Winter is usually NOT the time to be enjoying water rides. Or, at least, many people prefer to stay far away.
While it doesn’t often get freezing cold in Orlando, it does still get chilly in the winter, and many families visiting theme parks don’t want to get soaking wet on a ride. This is why we weren’t totally surprised to see the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure line looking less popular recently, but we WERE surprised to see how long the ride’s Virtual Queue was available!
The holiday crowds may have largely left Disney World, but now runDisney crowds have begun to sneak their way for the first event of the year.
That’s not all though — cold weather has also snuck its way into Orlando and while yes, it is winter, temperatures are DROPPING! This week in Disney World will be a cold one, so replace your bathing suit with your long layers and jacket because Blizzard Beach will be CLOSED!
Okay, we need to talk about a Disney World park that gets even better in the winter.
We know, we know, the ONLY reason to visit Disney World during winter is generally for the holiday season. And when you think holiday season, you probably think of Magic Kingdom and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party or EPCOT and the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays. You may even think of Santa Gertie at Hollywood Studios, as well as Jollywood Nights. But where’s the Animal Kingdom love? Well, we’re going to tell you why Animal Kingdom is even BETTER in the winter and if you’re not spending time there in the colder months, you’re TOTALLY missing out.
Winter is coming!
The winter season is right around the corner which means it’s time for sweater-weather. If you’re in the market for a new Disney sweatshirt, you’re in luck! We found 11 online that could really pull together your winter fit!
A lot is going on in Magic Kingdom right now.
We’re not even talking about all the BIG announcements Disney just made about a new Cars land and Villains land coming to the park. We’re not even talking about the recent reopening of Country Bear Jamboree with a brand new show. Nope, we’re talking about another new ride in the park that could be a lot easier to ride soon enough — and we’re going to tell you why.
If you are dreaming of spending the holidays at Disney World, there is a hotel discount that you need to know about!
The holidays at Disney World are a special time. From the fall festivities including Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, to the winter festivites including EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays, Disney Jollywood Nights, and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, there is so much to discover and explore.
It is STILL January. Is it just us or does it feel like January has lasted 584 days?
It feels like ages ago that we rang in the new year. Unfortunately, we’re still in the winter months. Now, that doesn’t always mean cold winter weather in Disney World. Some days we’ve seen it nearing 80 degrees in Disney World this month. But the next couple of days are here to remind us that, yes, we are still in January.
There’s a rumor that Disney World is covered by a giant dome that allows the company to control the weather.
While that would make running the park a WHOLE lot easier, it just isn’t true. Orlando is subject to all sorts of bad weather, from hurricanes and torrential downpours to brutal heat (which you may not be surprised by). What may surprise you is that it actually DOES get cold, too! Knowing what the weather will be like ahead of your trip can help you plan accordingly and avoid any discomfort.
Despite being in the middle of sunny Florida, theme parks like Disney World and Universal Orlando have tried their best to make the holidays feel like how they appear in the movies.
From faux snow-covered roofs in Hogsmeade to snoap in Disney Springs, each park has its own tricks to add a wintry feel. But now, it looks like Mother Nature might lend a hand!
