Disney World is going through a whirlwind of changes this year, and we’re keeping up with all of them to make sure you’re feeling as prepared as possible for your upcoming trip.
Lots of changes are particularly taking place in Animal Kingdom, where DinoLand U.S.A. is going away to make way for Pueblo Esperanza, the new Tropical Americas section, but there’s another attraction getting ready to take its final bow as well. In just a few days, It’s Tough to Be A Bug will officially play its final performance.
We’re just one short week away from the permanent closure of “It’s Tough to Be a Bug!” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and to say we’re sad is an understatement.
The show – which takes place inside the Tree of Life Theater – is closing to make way for a brand new attraction, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether! We figured we would start to see changes hit this show shortly after it officially closed — but we weren’t expecting to see them before it closed!
Good news! Disney has officially filed another permit in Animal Kingdom — this time, for a new show opening at the Tree of Life.
Grab your 3D glasses, and let’s see what’s up with Zootopia: Better Zoogether!
Disney World is home to some pretty intense crowd surges, but March 16th at Animal Kingdom could be a whole different level of chaos.
If you’re planning to visit Animal Kingdom on March 16th, you might want to steer clear of one very specific spot: the area around the Tree of Life, where It’s Tough to be a Bug! is located. That’s because March 16th marks the last day of showtimes for the long-running attraction before it permanently closes to make way for a brand-new Zootopia show. Let’s talk about why this is happening and what you can do to navigate the chaos.
Disney filed a permit for work to be done at the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which currently houses It’s Tough to Be a Bug.
The permit was filed on February 3rd, 2025, and is for work to be done by a contractor called Westbrook Service Corporation.
Huge changes are coming to Animal Kingdom!
DinoLand U.S.A. is being transformed into a Tropical Americas-themed land named Pueblo Esperanza and will include three brand new attractions! These attractions include an Encanto-themed attraction, a carousel, and an Indiana Jones-themed attraction. But it is not only DinoLand U.S.A. that is changing. Animal Kingdom’s park icon, the Tree of Life is home to It’s Tough to Be a Bug! and the time has finally come — we have a closing date for this show.
When you think of a Disney Cruise, you probably think about a sunny destination, tons of food, and relaxing.
What if your fellow cruisers were not just humans but also droids? The Disney Wish is home to a few Star Wars-themed areas, including the Hyperspace Lounge and an area dedicated to all things out of this galaxy in the Oceaneer Club. While these spaces are made for humans to enjoy, who says that droids also don’t deserve a vacation sailing the high seas?
Disney World, are you okay?
As the busy holiday season starts to wind down, it is not uncommon for Disney to perform routine maintenance on rides and attractions, but the number of closures around all the parks is getting out of control. While some of these closures are temporary, others are permanent, and the list seems to continue to grow.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Animal Kingdom
There are lots of wonderful things about the winter in Disney World. The holiday parties, the special snacks, and the seasonal nighttime shows. One of our favorite things is a special Animal Kingdom experience that has a twist this year!
