It’s no secret that we love The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. It’s just one of those super special places in Disney World where you can have a fancy meal and an even fancier slice of cake.

Now, don’t get us wrong — this is not somewhere you’d want to eat every day of your Disney World trip, but it is where you go for a special occasion (or if you just want to feel special). However, we do return here often, especially when new menu items drop. Well, five new menu items have arrived at The Cake Bake Shop and you bet we dropped everything to go check them out.

Most Disney World restaurants and attractions have reopened after the 2020 closures, but if you look closely, there are still some that have yet to come back, and we don’t know if they ever will.

Tables in Wonderland hasn’t made a reappearance, Restaurant Marrakesh in EPCOT has been closed for so long we don’t know if it’ll ever return, and of course, we can’t forget about the elegant tea service that used to be offered at the Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. But now that Disney has a new tea service, will we ever see it return?

Okay, we know that the prices of cake slices at The Cake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers have been pretty controversial, but overall, we’ve liked pretty much every slice of cake we’ve tried. We love those longer dinners at places like Victoria & Albert’s at the Grand Floridian, Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya in EPCOT, and California Grill at the Contemporary. However, is there anything MORE chill than a nice afternoon tea? This new spot was originally set to open in late 2023, but was pushed back to Fall 2024, which means now is the time to finally try out items from the menu and see if the wild price tags we’ve seen are really worth the experience. BIG NEWS! Something HUGE has happened at Disney World’s upcoming Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers restaurant.

This restaurant will have both a sit-down dining room and a quick-service bakery counter, and it’s located at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn. We’ve been following its construction for a LONG time, and we can’t wait to go inside and check out all the food and drinks, and now we’re one step closer to doing just that (and we are SO ready).
