Looks like the Resistance will have to fight their battle without us today.
We recently let you know that Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance had been appearing as “Temporarily Closed” today, but now we’ve got some more updates on the situation!
When you go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, getting a boarding pass for Rise of the Resistance can be a bit of a challenge. But when you DO get one, all that panic refreshing at 10AM or 2PM feels soooo worth it.
This massive Star Wars ride, however, is quite technologically advanced, which means that it breaks down and experiences little glitches from time to time.
We’re just a few short days away from the reopening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios on July 15th.
We know we’re not alone when we say we’re pretty excited to ride Rise of the Resistance in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge again. Initially, Disney had announced that the Virtual Queue would NOT be returning. However, Disney just announced that Rise of the Resistance WILL be using a MODIFIED Virtual Queue when Hollywood Studios reopens.
When the domestic theme parks like Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando began to reopen, we’ve shared what it was like to return to a theme park — and to pick up a few clues about what Walt Disney World would be like when it reopens!
We already knew there would be LOTS of similarities to other theme parks, like physical distancing measures, contactless menu and payment options, and required face coverings, which we had already checked out at Disney Springs and at the reopened Disney resort hotels. But, never one to play follow the leader, Disney has also gone off the beaten path with quite a few new and unique reopening procedures at Disney World.
A lot of these differences have had to do with the fact that Disney World is so MASSIVE that there’s really no comparison to other theme parks. So, of COURSE, they have to break the mold — they don’t even fit into it in the first place! Let’s look at some of the ways Disney World has flipped the playbook on theme park reopening.
We’re taking some time to celebrate the “Hollywood that never was — and always will be.” Because TODAY is the 31st Anniversary of Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World Resort!
Can you believe it’s been 31 years since Hollywood Studios opened as Disney-MGM Studios on May 1st, 1989? (We can’t either!!) True, 31 years is not exactly a milestone, like the park’s big party for its 30th last year. (And it’s also true that, for now, we can’t celebrate in the park itself.)
Even so, we believe that — when it comes to Disney Parks — there’s ALWAYS something to celebrate. [Read more…]
We are still blown away by how the Rise of the Resistance has taken us to a galaxy far, far away in the INCREDIBLE 20 minute attraction!
First we took you with us to a preview of the attraction, and now we’ve given you a few of our thoughts after our FIRST RIDE on the newest must-do in Galaxy’s Edge. Now that we’ve escaped from the clutches of the First Order (phew!), we’re gonna let you in on a few secrets about what to expect during your galactic adventure!
The wait is over! Rise of the Resistance has finally opened in Disney World, you guys!
And, Hollywood Studios is giving galactic travelers some extra time in the parks to celebrate the arrival of the new attraction!
Calling all Resistance fighters to Batuu!
Will you be joining the fight for the Resistance – or will you side with the First Order? Those are the paths you can choose with the NEW Rise of the Resistance jobs that will become available on the Disney Play app starting December 5, 2019 in Disney World! Coinciding with the opening of the Rise of the Resistance ride in Hollywood Studios (coming “tomorrowwww, tomorrowwww!!”), this new addition will be coming to the Star Wars: Datapad on the Disney Play app, and we are SO excited to see what it entails!
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge finally opened the gates to Batuu in Disney World this past month!
And, while Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has allowed guests to pilot the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy, we can’t help but wonder… What is the newest attraction coming to Galaxy’s Edge, the Rise of the Resistance, going to be like? Will the Force be with it, or will it give in to the dark side of Disney misses?
We’re STILL recovering from the onslaught of information that came out of D23 Expo 2019.
We learned about a new Moana-themed attraction, the upcoming Star Wars hotel (named Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser) and so much more.
