Wow! Disney news has been off the charts recently!
We learned a lot of important updates from Josh D’Amaro, the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products Chairman, at the IAAPA Expo, Imagineers and teams at the D23 Fantastic Worlds event, and from Disney announcements. We’re here to review ALL of the big news updates from this week!
We’ve been keeping a close eye on the construction of Star Wars: Galactic Cruiser (a.k.a. the Star Wars hotel) coming to Disney World.

Today we got an amazing peek at one of the areas on the interior of this ship. During the IAAPA Expo presentation this morning, Josh D’Amaro, the current Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, shared a look at one of the guest rooms coming to the Star Wars hotel and it’s totally out of this world!
We’ve been doing a bit of a construction round-up as we’ve looked at EPCOT’s Harmonious, the possible “La Gelateria” in the Italy Pavilion, and the expansion of the France Pavilion.
Buuut, we’re hopping over to a galaxy far, far away to take a look at everything happening over at the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser near Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
One major Disney project that we’ve got our eye on is the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel.
We keep our eye out for Disney permits to make sure that we don’t miss any exciting developments on projects like Galactic Starcruiser. We know that work continues to be underway thanks to recent patents and overhead photos, but now it looks like some set elements and theming are being incorporated at the site!
Last week, Disney participated in a virtual conference and gave some insight about the future of the Disney resorts, cruise line, Disney+, and more.
Check out what one Disney executive had to say about what Disney Parks projects will be moving forward with construction in the parks.
Projects like TRON Lightcycle Run, Harmonious, the PLAY! Pavilion, and more have officially been in the works at Walt Disney World, after being halted during the closure.
But those aren’t the only major projects Disney is working on again. Disney has also been moving ahead with their plans for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel.
We’re heading to a galaxy far, far away!
We’re super excited about the new Star Wars hotel, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser that’s currently under construction outside of Disney’s Hollywood Studios! Once it’s completed, the hotel will offer guests an immersive Star Wars experience that takes theming to the next level!
Disney World and Disneyland have just debuted new Stars Wars: Galaxy Edge lands which are nearly identical and have the same rides, including Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run and Rise of the Resistance.
Not only that, but Disneyland recently received its own version of Mickey’s Philharmagic. And soon, Disneyland will also be getting its own version of Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway. That got us thinking, what else could — and should — Disneyland borrow from Disney World?
The Walt Disney Company is massive, spanning across multiple industries and lines of business, from theme parks to motion pictures to home entertainment. In the past couple of weeks, the global health situation has caused Disney to make tough decisions that will surely have an effect on its bottom line in the coming fiscal year.
The Walt Disney Company currently has four primary business segments: Studio Entertainment, Media Networks, Direct-to-Consumer & International, and Parks, Experiences & Products. And most of them are completely under fire right now.
