Another month down in Walt Disney World and we’re into the new year!
We’re taking a look back at December. Sure, we had some holiday treats and a bunch of fun times in Disney World — but there were also some things we DIDN’T see coming! Here are the three most unexpected things that happened in Disney World last month!
When we get an ice cream craving, one of the places we like to head to is Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort!
Although this spot does offer an indoor dining space for table service, there’s also been the option of the Beaches & Cream To-Go Window, which offers some of that great ice cream (and over-the-top milkshakes) to go!
We definitely approve of boozy drinks getting mixed in with a dessert. And we’ve tried a lot of great boozy dessert-like drinks at Disney World!
We’ve had the amazing Root Beer Bourbon Cream Float at The Polite Pig, along with the incredible Pumpkin Spice Ice Cream Mac-Tini at L’Artisan des Glaces. And we’re always happy when fave boozy dessert-like drinks return!
We had no idea that National Banana Pudding Month was even a thing, but we are totally on board to celebrate it!
And we’re not the only ones: Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes in Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort has released a special shake in honor of one of the South’s favorite desserts.
Burgers
, shakes, and fries are a few of our favorite foods, and we love to indulge ourselves at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, which is located in Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney District.
While they have incredible permanent menu items (we love you, Cake Shake), Black Tap’s newest burger and shake for the month of August have us counting down the days until we can try them!!

in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs is a delicious place to grab a frozen treat — we’ve enjoyed the Creamsicle Shake and Nutella Brownie Sundae in the past. And the gelateria has just introduced a few new items!
After a short renovation, Downtown Disney’s centrally located UVA Bar, an extension of Catal, is back in biz with a fresh new look.
They were closed when I walked by, but I just had to snap a few photos for sharing! I love the bright colors and new seating. Can’t wait to try some of the new menu items as well.
Sign me up for some Fried Chicken and an Orange 50/50 Shake please!
The round booth style seats and long community-like tables are a [Read more…]
A few weeks ago, I was able to get a media sneak peek and food preview of Cars Land.
While we were there, every single attendee was in awe of its landscape, then we were blown away even more when we were led into Flo’s V8 Cafe for a tasting!
At that time, no photos were allowed. But, guess what? After 5 years, the time has come, the walls are down, and Flo’s is open for business!
Flo’s V8 Cafe was modeled after a Route 66 stop called Midpoint Cafe in Midpoint, Texas.
And the backstory in Cars Land is that Flo’s caters to the growing number of Route 66 visitors and race fans coming to Radiator Springs, with a “showroom” dining area that overlooks the Radiator Springs Racers attraction. This is one of the amazing views…
The minute you walk into Flo’s, you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. To me, it felt like the scene in Back to the Future when Marty enters the soda fountain to find his dad, George McFly sitting there.
You’re in complete awe of the music, the colors, the decor; everything. Flo’s is, in fact, so gorgeous that they have a Photo Pass photographer set up with a tripod out front to take pictures of people in front of the restaurant!
Here’s some of the fun outside “decor” that makes Flo’s so much fun to [Read more…]
After a successful week of soft openings, Ghirardelli has “officially” opened its doors at the Disneyland Resort inside of Disney California Adventure’s Pacific Wharf area.
We were lucky enough to be invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony, where Mickey and Minnie helped welcome the park’s first independently owned and operated establishment.
Disney California Adventure Park Vice President Mary Nivan & Disneyland Resort President George Kalogridis along with Ernst Tanner CEO of Lindt & Sprungli AG
First, we’ll take a peek inside and try a sundae. Then I’ll show you a very special surprise that makes this Ghirardelli location more incredible than any other in the world… (we even have a little video of what makes it so cool).
This Ghirardelli location is the first store to be built inside of a theme park (though there is a location in Downtown Disney in Orlando, that’s not, technically, a theme park). Although the cast members at Ghirardelli have had some Disney cast member training, they are actually employees of Ghirardelli and have been taught specifically by the chocolate company.
After the ribbon was cut, we were invited in to see the gorgeous new Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop!
As you enter the shop, there are menus to peruse as well as a few registers. You place your order at a register and are then sent to one of the three pick up windows where you will be handed your order.
As a “Grand Opening” guest, I was handed one of these tasty little treats!
It wasn’t easy to eat a sundae and take photos of the store at the same time, so unfortunately I had just a few bites and then got to work. My favorite thing about a Ghirardelli sundae? Definitely the [Read more…]
