A group of Texas theme parks are requesting to reopen to guests as soon as possible.

The Texas Travel Alliance, led by SeaWorld, Fiesta Texas, and the San Antonio Zoo, released a proposal requesting to reopen as early as this weekend.
We’re following along again this week with the discussions by Florida’s Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force.

But you might be wondering where that leaves us here in the United States. Just how far away are our major theme parks from reopening?
Four meetings of the various subcommittees for Florida’s Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force took place today, with more scheduled throughout the rest of the week. As Orange County is one of two counties in which Walt Disney World resides (the other being Osceola County), we’ve been staying tuned to the conversations surrounding the reopening of businesses in Orange County.

Discussions are in full swing regarding the reopening of the economy across the state of Florida in light of both the current global situation and recently announced federal guidelines. These conversations are taking place on both the state and county levels. And today we’ve been following along with the Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force, as it is one of the two counties in which Walt Disney World Resort (which remains closed until further notice) resides.

We’re learning more today about theme park and entertainment companies that are extending their temporary closures.

In addition to Disney’s announcement today, we have learned that SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment will also be extending their park closures.
Theme Parks all around the country are buckling down for a bumpy ride with the Coronavirus outbreak.

And, along with Disney Parks around the world and Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood, the SeaWorld Parks are closing for the safety of guests.
