Halloween has officially landed at Disney World, and we couldn’t be more excited! The parks are decorated! And the cast members are wearing their Halloween gear!
And now we’ve spotted a sale on Disney Halloween costumes for kids!
Cinderella’s Royal Table is one of the most unique dining spots in Walt Disney World because it lets you (literally) dine like a princess IN A CASTLE.
It’s not just about food, though: it’s an experience that every Disney fan should enjoy at least once in their life.
We’re just a few weeks away from Easter! If your family is preparing for the Easter Bunny to hippity-hop his way to your home, you’ll want to prepare your baskets to be filled up with goodies!

A few of these items are on sale, so buy them while you can if you want to stay under that $30 mark (note that prices listed are before tax)! And even better, all of these are available ONLINE!
Christmas is coming!
And your Disney fan wants some Disney loot! So even though we’re in the business of Disney food, you know we can not resist Disney gear. We just can’t. We don’t even bother to try. (Just take my money!)
So here are some holiday Disney gift ideas… for your friends, your family, and yourself…that we just LOVED!
Visiting Disneyland can certainly make you feel like a kid again! But what about if you’re visiting with…you know…real, live, actual kids?
We talk a lot about good options for grown ups, but today, I thought we could hit up our very favorite spots in Disneyland for when you have some small fry with you (which, for many of us, is most of the time!). So let’s tick off the Top 3 Restaurants for Kids in Disneyland.
Grab your Mickey Ears, and let’s go!
If you have a small child in tow on your Disneyland trip, a character meal is practically a requirement.
After all, most kiddos love meeting larger than life characters. But kids and adults alike can agree that long lines in the hot sun don’t make for magical memories. So our first suggestion is that you book your advance dining reservation asap for Goofy’s Kitchen.
Why? Because we think the food is better here than at many other character meals.
Located in Disneyland Hotel, choose from brunch or dinner character dining at this popular spot. And the characters are especially fun at Goofy’s. Because in addition to Goofy, you just never know you might drop by!
Of course, you can totally expect to see the man himself.
But you might just see a prince or a princess as well! And MANY other friends!
Parents will appreciate the terrific seating options here. Sure, there’s no monorail whizzing above your head like you’ll find at Chef Mickey’s. But there are tables located both inside the sunny dining room and outside on a shaded patio. Ahhhh…how I love California.
And even though the characters are fun and the atmosphere is adequate, the eats are [Read more…]

Disney’s newest ship, the Fantasy, is now offering the Royal Court Royal Tea, an interactive experience featuring some of Disney’s most popular characters — the Disney Princesses.
Hosted by Lady Chamomile and Chef Brule — two new characters created to bring the event to life — guests are invited to interact with several princesses while they dine on traditional teatime fare.

Welcome back guest author Katie McFarland as she takes us to Cinderella’s Royal Table in the Magic Kingdom!
Cinderella’s Royal Table is one of my favorite restaurants in Disney World. The main reason for this is obvious: it’s in a castle (duh!).
With that said, the food is also (usually) fantastic and appropriately portion controlled!
Let’s take a look inside…
The restaurant entrance is located inside the castle walkway directly across from the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. You have to check in at the hostess booth in front of the door to gain access to the restaurant.
Beware!: Don’t arrive too early (more than 15 minutes) or they will not let you in! My husband and I learned that the hard way and we had to kill time in Sir Mickey’s (oh darn!).
Once you enter the castle, you are treated to an opulent foyer complete with: knight in shining armor, tapestries, grand chandeliers, stained glass windows featuring the birds from Cinderella, and of course: Jaq and Gus.
While in the foyer, each party is treated to a photo op with Cinderella as part of their meal package. And then comes the *gong*gong*gong* announcing the dining party that will be escorted in the dining area of the restaurant.
They probably do this to keep nosy neighbors like me out of the restaurant and from awkwardly [Read more…]

Welcome James Hummel with a review of the Storybook dinner at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in Epcot’s Norway!
Having now traveled to Walt Disney World twice with our 4-year-old niece, we decided that it was time she experience dining with her favorite princess characters. We wanted to experience a new restaurant at the same time, and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (a.k.a. Princess Nirvana) was the hands-down winner.
Akershus is located in the Norway pavilion in EPCOT. The design of the restaurant reminded me of a European castle banquet hall. The entrance room is decorated with medieval style wooden chairs fit for Princes and Princesses.
Upon entering Akershus, you are welcomed by a Princess; our hostess for our meal was Belle. All guests had the chance to take a picture with Belle. Later in the meal, a Cast Member presents you with a package of your picture with the princess AT NO EXTRA COST! This was a pleasant surprise, as with most other character dining restaurants the pictures are an extra charge.
During the meal, there is a princess and prince parade. The Host Princesses ask the little princesses and princes to get up and walk around the room. Since many of the little princesses are dressed in their finest, this gives them the opportunity to show of their dresses.
Our niece loved the experience. She was able to meet [Read more…]
