Disney’s Pop Century Resort
The Disney World hotels are no strangers to long closures due to repairs, refurbishments, and improvements. That trend is continuing in 2026, as one brief refurbishment project will affect 4 different hotels in January 2026.
Disney World’s Skyliner is temporarily closing early next year, and it’s affecting our hotel choices!
Disney Skyliner at Art of Animation and Pop Century Resorts
The Disney Skyliner system, first opened in 2019, has become one of the most popular transportation methods at Walt Disney World. The efficient gondola system links the EPCOT and Hollywood Studios theme parks with the Pop Century, Art of Animation, Caribbean Beach, and Riviera resorts. In fact, its presence serves as one of the major perks of those respective resorts… when it’s running.
It’s the middle of April in Disney World and spring is officially here and, before we know it, it will be summer.

We’ve spent some time with some new snacks this week, though, including our new favorite pretzel snack in EPCOT, some new menu items at Sci Fi Dine-In at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and more. We’re also excited about the news that a NEW celebrity chef-owned restaurant is coming soon. We also noticed some menu changes to other Disney World restaurants, so let’s take a look at those.

Pop Century Resort
When staying at this resort, you get fun theming, a new coffee bar, access to the Skyliner, and now, a big perk! Disney dropped a lot of news recently about hotel and ticket deals for this summer and new activities for kids in the parks. The other new perk, specifically for this hotel and a few others will begin this summer as well.
An iconic entertainment venue on Disney’s Boardwalk is closing in Disney World soon! You only have ONE week left to grab a few more drinks and sing along to the dueling pianos at Jellyrolls, so make that one week count.

Jellyrolls at Disney’s BoardWalk is officially closing on April 19th, 2025. This entertainment venue has provided our team with countless memories, and we know many others are also sad to see it close.
These Disney World hotels are adding some new… “character” this summer!
Pop Century
In the 50+ years since Walt Disney World opened, character meet & greets were *mostly* limited to encounters at the resort’s theme parks and water parks, and character meals. While characters have been appearing at Disney’s hotels, those stops have usually been unscheduled and hard to catch. However, that’s all about to change.
It is an exciting week as a popular Disney World hotel’s food court is officially fully open! We have been watching the progress closely, and last week, the refurbishment was completed.

While the food court is no longer under refurbishment, there are numerous things in Disney World that will be closed for refurbishment next week. We have all the details on the food court’s reopening, plus what will be closed next week, keep reading!
Disney’s Pop Century Resort has been undergoing a pretty extensive refurbishment in Everything POP!, the main dining location, for many months now.

We’ve gotten to see the new design come to life, and to be honest, we’re fans of it! But that’s not all — the hotel recently announced that multiple new menu options would be arriving at the dining spot soon, and we just got a chance to try two of them out and see if they’re really worth your hard-earned money.

Not only did Gideon’s Bakehouse announce a new menu, BUT we got eight new food and drinks at Disney’s Pop Century Resort (and yes, be looking for those reviews coming soon). However, those aren’t the only restaurant changes we spotted in Disney World this week. We’ve also got some other restaurant menu updates to tell you about.
