Whew!
It sure has been a news-y few weeks for Disney World! From the debut of the long-awaited Rivers of Light show in Animal Kingdom, to the announcement of a brand new fireworks spectacular on the way to Magic Kingdom, to the return of another annual Festival at Epcot: the 2017 Flower and Garden Festival.
But it sure doesn’t stop there, because we’ve got even more news to explore… by checking out WHAT’S NEW around Walt Disney World! [Read more…]
Happy weekend before Valentine’s Day! We hope you’re having a great one. If you happen to be in Disney World this week for Valentine’s Day there are a few spots that are great for celebrating!
There are just a couple weekends left for the Epcot International Festival of the Arts and we have photos of every food item at the Food Studios! We also have the full menus for the Food Studios!
After the Festival of the Arts comes the 2017 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival with its Outdoor Kitchens. And then we head out to the 2017 Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival. And don’t forget, the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival starts in August this year! Whew! We’re going to be a very busy bunch here at DFB! We have a lot to share with you this week, so let’s jump right in…
Over the weekend, we had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at Paddlefish, the latest restaurant to open in Disney Springs.
I say “latest,” but Paddlefish is simultaneously one of Disney Springs’ oldest and newest stops. That’s because Paddlefish is just the latest tenant in a restaurant that’s been in this area for quite some time. If you’ve been following along, then you know Paddlefish was most recently known as Fulton’s Crab House. And before that, you may have known it as the Empress Lilly, originally opened in 1977 and named for Walt Disney’s beloved wife.
With the revamping and major overhaul that Downtown Disney — now Disney Springs — has recently experienced, the old riverboat theming of Fulton’s wasn’t going to flow with the new vibe. And so, the restaurant’s owner, Levy Restaurants, signed to stay on in Disney Springs, and commenced to a stem to stern reimagining of the Old Girl.
We had a chance to take a look around at the new space, which opened to the public February 4th. Join us on a tour.
As with the rest of Disney Springs, Paddlefish somehow manages to channel past and future at the same time, all with an industrial vibe.
If you were familiar with Fulton’s, you’ll see the stark contrast between old and new right away. Gone is the old-timey riverboat look. In its place is a neutral palette of grey and white with touches of rich stained wood. [Read more…]

Happy New Year, Friends!
Editor’s Note: This post has been updated with links to current reviews of the most anticipated 2017 Dining Experiences that have opened so far! Look for UPDATES and links throughout the post.
I hope that your 2017 is off to an excellent start and that you’re planning your next trip to Disney Parks for sometime this year!
As has been the case for the last few years, Disney has promised some big doin’s coming our way during the calendar year.
And oh, well, sure. The entire universe is poised on the edge of its collective seat, awaiting some indication of when Star Wars Land and Toy Story Land will spring to life. BUT — even though we really don’t expect to hear of openings on those fronts in 2017, there’s still PLENTY to look forward to!

February 4, 2017,
will be the opening date for Paddlefish, the establishment previously known as Fulton’s Crab House in Disney Springs (which was previously known as Downtown Disney 😉 ).
Paddlefish, a Levy restaurant, will retain a focus on fresh seafood (along with steaks and chops), even though the space itself has received a “bow to stern” update! The new space with a sleek look and modern feel will play host to lunch and dinner — as well as Brunch on Sundays — complete with a brand new rooftop lounge featuring terrific waterfront views. We have a lot to share with you this week, so let’s jump right in…
This past spring we found out that Paddlefish is coming to Disney Springs in the former location of Fulton’s Crab House. The new restaurant will focus on seafood as well as chops and steaks and a new oyster shucking bar!
Way back in the Summer we shared a sneak peek at a few menu items. And while the official menu hasn’t been announced yet we have another peek at more of the menu items coming soon to Paddlefish. [Read more…]

is opening soon at the West Side area of Disney Springs!
And while we don’t yet know the opening date, we do know a few things. For instance, the refurbished restaurant (formerly Planet Hollywood – the “Observatory” part will be unique to Disney Springs) will offer four floors as well as outdoor dining, along with a 4,000 square foot video wall, live entertainment, and the Stargazers bar.
The location also shared that they have partnered with Food Network’s Guy Fieri in creating an exclusive Burger and Sandwich menu for the location. Other new dishes as well as Planet Hollywood favorites will also be available.
And now we know one more thing… Planet Hollywood Observatory will be serving some over-the-top ice cream creations in the form of some super-loaded Supernova Shakes.
Take a look! [Read more…]
