Typhoon Lagoon Is FINALLY Open Again in Disney World!

Typhoon Lagoon is officially OPEN! The Disney World water park has been closed since November 2024, but if you have patiently waited to ride down Miss Adventure Falls or Crush ‘n’ Gusher, your time has finally come.

Typhoon Lagoon is open!

Typhoon Lagoon has reopened as of May 1st, 2025, and while Blizzard Beach has now closed for a short refurb, we have some exciting news. Beginning May 21st, BOTH Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open for the summer. Now you will have to choose which water park you want to go to! We still have a few weeks until that happens, but we are at Typhoon Lagoon for its grand reopening.

A good majority of us are probably wishing we were at Disney’s Animal Kingdom right now (or anywhere at Disney World, realistically). However, nothing beats sitting in the Tree of Life Gardens with a coffee, so that is what we’re daydreaming about right now. If you don’t want to hang out under the Tree of Life, no worries! We’ve seen a number of permanent closures this year in Disney World. but there are also some locations that were allegedly temporarily closed — and still haven’t reopened .

Every Disney World Restaurant Closure In 2023

2023 appears to be something of a year of closures at Disney World. On January 22nd Splash Mountain ferried its last guests, and we said goodbye to Magic Kingdom nighttime spectacular Disney Enchantment, which ended on April 2nd.

Not all of the closures are permanent, though. There are a fair amount of refurbishments happening across the resort as well. However, all of these changes aren’t limited to just attractions and shows.

The Edison Is Now Open Longer in Disney World

When it comes to food, Disney World has a ton of options, ESPECIALLY at Disney Springs! There are delicious quick-service spots, LOADS of places to grab sweet snacks (including Everglazed and Gideon’s), and upscale restaurants owned by award-winning chefs. It can be difficult to decide where to go!

Some of these restaurants are only open for dinner, but recently Enzo’s Hideaway announced it would be serving lunch. Now, ANOTHER Disney Springs restaurant has shared that it is open for lunch, too! More lunch options? We’re in!

Disneyland reopens on April 30th, and those with existing tickets are currently able to make park reservations! Just keep in mind that these will be required in addition to a valid ticket. And if you don’t have a ticket yet, don’t worry — you’ll be able to buy new ones (and make those Park Pass reservations) on April 15th!
