Welcome to our roundup of What’s New in Epcot!
We’ve got a lot to cover today, including new merchandise, food updates, and more! Let’s get started.
Walt Disney World is regularly stepping up its food game, and that includes quick service (a.k.a. fast food) in its parks and resorts.
In fact, some quick service dining is so good, it rivals some of the better table service restaurants in the parks and resorts!

is located at the back of the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase at Walt Disney World.
This table service spot is oft forgotten in part because of its location, in part because Morocco’s quick service spot Tangierine Cafe is so good, and in part because Restaurant Marrakesh just doesn’t have the reputation for wowing guests like many of the other World Showcase table service options have.
I like to revisit restaurants whether they’ve got a decent rep or not, and Restaurant Marrakesh is one that we needed to check out again. But it’s one of the options for this year’s Flower & Garden Garden Rocks Dining Package (click here for more info on Garden Rocks and the dining package!), so I was excited to return (and get a coveted ticket to the show!).
Restaurant Marrakesh is a dichotomy. On the one hand, the atmosphere features lovely design details in keeping with the overall styling of the pavilion itself, the building of which was overseen by the government of Morocco. On the other hand, the food at Restaurant Marrakesh is largely uninspired and lackluster.
The atmosphere at Restaurant Marrakesh celebrates some of the classic Moroccan design seen elsewhere in the pavilion (and in the, you know, country of Morocco). [Read more…]
Here’s hoping you’re having a great weekend so far! We’re kicking it off with another DFB Video: a full restaurant review of Epcot’s Spice Road Table!
This table service restaurant is located in Epcot’s beautiful Morocco Pavilion. And in addition to a lovely setting, it offers indoor and outdoor waterfront dining, fireworks views, and some pretty great cuisine. Find out why we think Spice Road Table is something of a hidden gem in our latest DFB YouTube video! [Read more…]

When Spice Road Table opened its doors in the Morocco Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase way back in 2014, we loved the small plates concept and the stellar location.
But while Spice Road Table has a lot going for it, it’s remained a little less of a crowd favorite than, say, Via Napoli or Rose and Crown. This is probably owing to its slightly more unusual cuisine, which includes dishes that highlight the flavors of the Mediterranean.
The thing is, those dishes are actually really promising! Stand-outs from the Small Plates menu include Fried Calamari and Spicy Garlic Shrimp — two seafood dishes that are really stand-outs for their flavor and execution.
And this is one location where vegetarians (or those who like to incorporate non-meat dishes into their diets!) can get some unique eats (read: not salads!). There are no fewer than four vegetable dishes on the small plates menu, which means there are actual decisions to be made and veggies to be shared!
Join me as we journey on the Spice Road!
We had a case of wanderlust this week, and instead of getting out the passport and packing, we just hopped over to spend the day in Epcot. Our journey started with some time spent in Future World, followed by a trip around the World Showcase. And boy, did we find a lot new eats and buys for you on this “trip”!
We have always thought of EPCOT’s Restaurant Marrakesh as one of Disney World’s most interesting restaurants. It has taken great pains to make authentic Moroccan food appealing to guests with any palate. They are continuing in this tradition by adding some unique Moroccan specialties to their menu.
Their first introduction is Pan-Seared Lamb Loin Medallions and Hummus Rosemary Pancakes. This dish comes with zucchini, olives, and toasted garlic au jus.
Some new appetizers are on the menu include Mussels Casablanca. The dish couples steamed mussels with capers, tomatoes, and saffron cream sauce. You’ll also find a new Goat Cheese with Crispy Bread available as an app. [Read more…]
