We’re baaaack… And, with an all new What’s New at Magic Kingdom too (aw yeaaah!).
We have LOTS of construction, merch, and food updates for ya, so let’s take a quick trip to the Happiest Place on Earth.
We’ve got some seriously fun news about disney transportation that you’re gonna want to celebrate!
The Disney Bus system is a lifesaver whenever you’re in the parks. You never have to worry about parking, you get to pull right up to the entrance of your destination, and your ride is usually simple and pleasant. In addition to all those perks, Disney Transportation is about to get super spectacular.
If you’re enjoying a rainy day at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom but are bummed to discover that the Festival of Fantasy Parade is cancelled for the day, fret not! (Well, you can fret a little…)
There’s a fun alternative to the FoF that features a handful of characters and lots of rainy day cheer! It’s the Rainy Day Cavalcade!
Christmas is coming!
And your Disney fan wants some Disney loot! So even though we’re in the business of Disney food, you know we can not resist Disney gear. We just can’t. We don’t even bother to try. (Just take my money!)
So here are some holiday Disney gift ideas… for your friends, your family, and yourself…that we just LOVED!
is set to release a whole bunch of fun new merchandise when the construction walls come down this June!
Check out all of the foodie-related items that I found at the recent Passholder Preview this week (where I also tried the new popcorn flavor and slushies that will debut!). I absolutely love the new artwork being used.
I just love the retro-looking image of Mickey and Minnie pulling the trailer on this lunch bag. It’s also insulated, roomy, and it has an [Read more…]

The Plaza Inn in Disneyland can be found on the corner of Main Street and Tomorrowland, but there’s nothing futuristic about it! The Victorian setting features a fun buffet breakfast in the morning (with characters!), and some fantastic counter-service cafeteria-style food in the afternoon and evening (they say the fried chicken is to die for).
The Plaza Inn Breakfast with Minnie and Friends is the only character meal inside Disneyland Park, so it’s a great one to start with if you’re planning to do the day in Disneyland and you’d like to get a hearty breakfast.
On our way inside the restaurant, you’ll pass some cute outdoor seating. It’s primarily used during the lunch and dinner meals, though; most breakfast guests will sit in the opulent indoor dining room with its [Read more…]

Here’s how I feel this morning. How ’bout you?
Thought we’d start this Wednesday morning off with a pun (get it? “mugs?”), as all good English-Majors-Turned-Bloggers should do once in a while ;).
I’ve noticed so many different series of mugs at Disney-related stores recently, and I can’t figure out if Disney’s always released mug “collections,” or if this is new. (Maybe I’ve just not been paying attention…very possible… .)
Regardless, I first saw this Mickey mug at the Pop Century gift shop last year and thought it was just about the greatest thing ever. Once I saw the whole collection at a Downtown Disney store more recently, I couldn’t resist starting a new “series” of posts for the food blog. That means: stay tuned for more mug collections!
This one’s my favorite! She looks so peeved!
Yep — this fits my image of Grumpy in the morning…
Minnie has hair?! And curlers?!
Hmm… a bit too “hypnotic” for me…
Aw. Who knew Dopey had footie pajamas?
Have a great day!

Cape May Cafe, at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, is one of the best character meals on property, in my opinion. It’s more “below the radar” than more popular character meals (e.g. Chef Mickey’s and Cinderella’s Royal Table), so reservations are a slight bit easier to get; the food is fantastic; and the characters are all dressed in their bathing suits ready for a day at the beach — how much fun is that? At this meal, you can see Goofy, Minnie, and Donald (this used to have Chip and Dale, but they’ve been replaced!).
Goofy Visits With a Little Guest
(More character photos later in the post!) Located on the right hand side of the Beach Club’s lobby (entering from the parking lot), Cape May Cafe is a large restaurant with a Beach theme — decor includes light colored woods and old-fashioned wooden and canvas beach chairs and umbrellas. The restaurant is also the location for the Beach Club’s Clam Bake buffet each night (we’ll cover this in a later blog!).

Once you’re seated with your drink order taken, you’re free to visit the delicious buffet, which begins in the foyer of the restaurant with bagels and lox, and moves into the main area of the restaurant with dozens of other options. These include different flavors of yogurt accompanied by granola, raisins, and fresh fruit for toppings; oatmeal and cream of wheat; pancakes and mickey waffles; egg dishes and meats; and a whole buffet of delectable baked goods! There’re also plenty of cereal choices.

And now for the characters! This breakfast offers a truly unique photo experience with the characters all ready for their day at the beach!

Silly Donald! You Don't NEED A Swimsuit!
Minnie's Ready for Her Close-Up
I can highly recommend this character breakfast (even if you don’t have kids!). It’s thoroughly enjoyable, slightly “quieter” than the others, and has great variation in the available food. We’ve enjoyed every trip here.
Be sure to let me know about your favorite character breakfast and your Cape May Cafe experiences — I love hearing your stories! Happy Labor Day!
