in the Canada Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase at Walt Disney World is a signature dining spot for lunch and dinner.
It’s tucked low in the side of the pavilion, and entering this popular restaurant is like stepping into an elegant wine cave cellar.
We’ve dined at Le Cellier many times, starting back before the Disney Dining Plan even existed, and then when it was still a one-credit meal for both lunch and dinner. That changed in 2012, when dinner became a signature dining experience requiring two Disney Dining Plan table service credits. Then, in 2013, lunch at Le Cellier also went signature, and lots of readers wanted to know if it was still worth a visit.
The short answer is yes… if you can spare the credits or bite the budget bullet out of pocket. Le Cellier crafts high-quality meals with thoughtful components and incorporates Canadian ingredients in subtle ways.
But I’m always re-trying old favorites to ensure that DFB can still endorse them, so I journeyed back to the Great White North to confirm Le Cellier’s place among the great restaurants of Walt Disney World.
The dining room at Le Cellier creates a distinctive dining atmosphere — and it’s one that I love. [Read more…]
Our weekly visit to Epcot includes a bunch of construction updates — including seeing part of the track for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride!
The Guardians of the Galaxy ride isn’t the only thing going on Epcot right now, there’s also the addition of the Ratatouille Ride in the France Pavilion, TWO brand new restaurants, prep work for the new nighttime show, and more must-have merchandise!
You know how we at the DFB feel about poutine. We love it so much we created a poutine crawl last year. We visit The Daily Poutine in Disney Springs often to sample their limited time offerings. And if we spot poutine on a menu, we pretty much can’t help ourselves. So secret menu poutine at Le Cellier? Yeah, we gotta tell you about this one!
It’s called Annual Passholder Poutine — but you don’t need to have an Annual Pass to get it! [Read more…]
What’s better than a home cooked holiday meal? A holiday meal at Walt Disney World!
Nearly every restaurant in Disney World features a turkey-based or holiday meal on Thanksgiving and Christmas days. But Disney features special holiday meals at select restaurants throughout Walt Disney World on these holidays every year as well. Disney just announced this year’s list of participating restaurants, so let’s take a look!
We’re in Epcot checking out what’s new this week! The restaurants are busy adding some seasonal treats as well as fall flavors! Construction is moving forward on a variety of attractions! Let’s take a closer look…
So…a poutine cloud apparently burst over Orlando and now you can get varieties of this relatively obscure French Canadian pub grub delicacy pretty much everywhere in Disney World. There’s even a dining spot completely dedicated to poutine.
The dish traditionally consists of French fries covered in cheese curds and brown gravy, and Canadians will cheerfully tell you that NONE of the dishes below qualify. Yet they’re called Poutine on the menu, and since we love french fries with stuff piled on top of them, we’re happy to tally them up for you!
Oh, and here’s some real Canadian poutine for reference.
So here’s the Disney World Poutine Crawl!
is the most recent addition to the poutine World and can be found at the Refreshment Port in Epcot.
Happy Weekend! We’re back with another DFB Video today, and we’re taking you on a Food Tour of Epcot’s Canada AND Norway Pavilions!
You may be well aware that Epcot’s Canada boasts Le Cellier Steakhouse, which is home to some terrific Filet Mignon and Signature Poutines. Or perhaps you’ve dined with Disney Princesses in Norway’s Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. But do you know where you can snag some Maple Popcorn? Or where you can find memorable — and memorably named — snacks like School Bread, Troll Horns, and more? We’ll take you to each and every spot to find these (and many more) eats in Epcot’s Norway and Canada Pavilions! [Read more…]

Wow… we’re gearing up for a LOT of new experiences coming to Walt Disney World in the coming weeks. Next month, the new “Happily Ever After” nighttime spectacular will make its debut in Magic Kingdom, and Animal Kingdom will unveil an entire new LAND with Pandora — The World of AVATAR!
But, as always, there is plenty taking place in the here and now in Disney World, too. So, let’s take a look around the parks and resorts to find out What’s New!
Check out the half-adorable, half-creepy new Panda Caramel Apple in Zuri’s Sweets Shop! (That thing really needs pupils.) [Read more…]

Y’all!!! It’s time for some FRONCH FROES!!!!!!
(For those of you new to DFB, that’s “french fries” in AJ-speak. ;-D)
We’ve got TONS of food crawls in our DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining, and in our latest edition, we just had to develop a brand new one– the French Fry Crawl!
It’s just one of the many great features that make the 2018 DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Dining, 2nd Edition, our best book yet. With more than 650 pages of color photos, tips, reviews, and extra features, you HAVE TO HAVE IT for your next Disney trip! (I’m not biased or anything. For realz.)
But now, back to the subject at hand. Call ’em Fries, Chips, Poutine, whatever — there’s pretty much nothing about fronch froes we don’t love. And Disney hasn’t failed us with their yummy spins on this classic side.
So head out with us as we complete this most delicious challenge. We’ll be all over the place for this one, so plan accordingly! The French Fry Crawl will likely take you an entire trip to complete. Unless, you know, you’re like us — and want to eat fries for every meal. Then it might only take you a day and a half. 😉
Hungry? Good! Let’s go!
Our first stop is Beaches and Cream. Find this little Soda Shop in the Disney Beach Club Resort.
Beaches and Cream is one of my favorite stops for about a million reasons. There’s a cool, beachy retro feel to the place, and it’s known for its killer sundaes. While my favorite is the No Way Jose, the most iconic treats here are the Kitchen Sinks.
But we’re stopping here today for a plate — or two — of their Loaded Fries! Currently, there are three versions: Sock Hop Fries, Chili-Cheese Fries, and Cheese and Bacon Fries.
Sock Hop Fries are covered in a savory Brown Gravy and topped with melty Shredded Cheddar. Think of them as Poutine’s American cousin.
But the Bacon and Cheese Fries. Omigosh. Cheese Sauce (!!!!), Bacon, Peppercorn Ranch, and Red Onions elevate this one to amazing. [Read more…]
