It’s almost here: the grand opening of Epic Universe.

Five NEW lands will open with Universal Orlando’s third theme park, including an original land called Celestial Park, as well as Dark Universe, How To Train Your Dragon — Island of Berk, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic, and Super Nintendo World. We’ve already learned a lot about all of these lands, but Universal just shared even MORE details about some of the rides with The Hollywood Reporter.
So we’ll admit it — our heads are still REELING from that WILD Disney Parks and Experiences Panel at D23: The Ultimate Fan Event.
Magic Kingdom
Like, y’all — we expected Disney to make some announcements about new additions coming to Disney World, but Disney completely blew our expectations out of the water. Now, we’re just trying to sort through all the awesomeness, like a Monsters, Inc. land, a new Cars land, a new Villains Land (we still can’t believe this announcement happened), and more. So we’ve taken all of those Disney World announcements and put them into a timeline of when they’re actually coming to Disney World.
We recently got a first look at the massive Fantasy Springs expansion at Tokyo Disney Sea at Tokyo Disney Resort.

To say we were FLOORED by how amazing each land was and how we loved the rides (especially Anna & Elsa’s Frozen Adventure) is an understatement. We also learned a lot more about how this expansion was put together and how Disney Imagineers ultimately decided what would and wouldn’t go into these new lands.
Y’all…we’ve only spent a short amount of time in Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea, but we’ve seen some of the most amazing things we’ve ever seen in a theme park.
Peter Pan’s Never Land
This new expansion has brought three new lands to the park and each land is highly imaginative, greatly detailed, and absolutely gorgeous. We’ve seen some ride technology that has blown our minds and we’ve had so much fun spotting all the little details in all of these lands. But there were some things that we saw that TOTALLY shocked us — in a good way.

However, we’ve been getting more and more details about all five themed lands the park will have, including the Isle of Berk (a How To Train Your Dragon land) and Super Nintendo World. Now, we’ve seen various construction updates online, but let’s just say we got curious and decided to go check out some of that construction (from a safe distance, of course) for ourselves!
Something MASSIVE is happening over in Disneyland.

Disneyland has seen a ton of changes already. Last year, a newly updated ToonTown reopened, Tarzan’s Treehouse became Adventureland Treehouse, Haunted Mansion closed to get an updated queue area, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is under construction. But a huge $1.9 billion expansion is also coming to the park, which means new rides, lands, restaurants, and more!

We’ve been talking a LOT recently about Universal’s Epic Universe, as well as another experience Universal has planned for Texas. But we also recently told you about a theme park being built right in the middle of the U.S. called American Heartland which is being built by former Disney Imagineers. But the more we think about this new theme park, the more we’re noticing that it’s sounding a lot like, well…a Disney Park.

While some Disney fans think Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is one of the best-themed lands in all of Disney World, others think that World Showcase is completely underrated by EPCOT guests. And some guests love the charm of Fantasyland, while others prefer the bioluminescent details of Pandora. No matter how you cut it, though, Disney fans think some lands are overrated, while others aren’t. So we asked you, our DFB readers, about the lands at Disney World! In 2020 alone we saw TONS of changes (like the temporary suspension of fireworks and the suspension of the Disney Dining Plan) and — oh yeah — the parks CLOSED for the longest time in history! All of these majorly changed how you plan your Disney vacation. BUT, Disney has made many major changes like this over the years that dramatically impacted how trips are planned.
