Disney World works hard to make the parks as safe as possible for guests, but even with all of the precautions in place, injuries can still happen.
Cosmic Rewind
Safety is a major priority for Disney World, but with millions of people visiting the parks each year, injuries do occasionally happen. And in the first few months of 2025, seven different Disney World rides had injuries reported.
We get it: a Disney World vacation can often be a once-in-a-lifetime event for a lot of folks (even those who go often because there’s just so much to see and do). So you may feel the urge to try to do EVERYTHING, even if that’s pretty much impossible during a week-long trip.

Now, we will always tell you to not push yourself so hard that you miss out on little things in Disney World. Sometimes the best thing you can do is take a break, leave the parks for a little bit, and then come back later. However, there’s also something else you can do in Disney World to keep from pushing yourself too hard: that’s knowing your limits and not forcing yourself to try and ride EVERY single ride.
While Disney World might be the most magical place on Earth, that doesn’t mean that nothing bad ever happens in the park.
Disney’s Animal Kingdom
The Orlando area theme parks receive millions of visitors each and every year. And while we wish it was always sunshine and daisies, injuries do happen at Disney World, Universal, and SeaWorld.

Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom
We also have those rides that we tend to stay away from, whether they’re too scary (Tower of Terror can be terrifying for some people), too extreme (Mission: SPACE Orange is a BIT MUCH), too dizzying (hello, Mad Tea Party), or for other reasons. However, some rides just have loading areas that can be a little iffy, and we now have actual proof of two Disney World rides with slightly dangerous loading areas where you need to take extra care getting in and out of ride vehicles.
Injuries can happen anywhere, even in theme parks.
Magic Kingdom
Visits to theme parks like those at the Walt Disney World Resort or Universal Studios Orlando are such happy occasions that visitors often “turn off their brains” to the real world and instead live in the theme park bubble. However, being in that bubble can sometimes lead to disaster if someone stops paying attention to their surroundings, even in the most seemingly innocuous of situations.
Alright, I want to start off by saying that you don’t need to panic or violently cross off riding Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on your EPCOT list. While I did have to call 911 on multiple occasions while working at Disney World, that is truly the exception. Bad things can still happen at Disney World, and unfortunately, something bad will likely happen every day at Disney World. However, that doesn’t mean you should make any drastic changes.

There are lots and lots of moving parts at Disney World, with lots and lots of people experiencing all those moving parts. It is hot, people are exhausted, and things happen. It may be the “Most Magical Place on Earth,” but less-than-magical things can still happen. Being prepared and listening to your body can help prevent some less-than-magical things but Cast Members (and paramedics) are also there to help.
