Welcome back new Disney Food Blog author Wendy with a peek at a brand new addition to the Epcot France Pavilion!

Finding new treats at Walt Disney World is one of my favorite pastimes. Today, I can’t wait to share a new ice cream sandwich with you!!

I love walking up to L’Artisan des Glaces in Epcot’s France Pavilion, especially at twilight. The lights glow like a glittering beacon drawing you towards pure ice cream goodness.

Snack Series: Gelato Ice Cream Sandwiches in Epcot’s Italy

Happy National Ice Cream Sandwich Day, everyone! And in honor of this important day, it’s time to head back to one of my favorite spots for a frosty treat, the Tutto Italia cart in Epcot’s Italy!

I couldn’t wait to tell you guys about the Coppa Delizia sundae at this very spot a few months ago, so I wondered what other delicious treats they might have to satisfy a craving for cold and creamy on a hot Florida summer day.

I was excited to see that the menu had changed a bit, and the kiosk was now offering Gelato Cookie Sandwiches! I wondered if these would be as good as the Homemade Ice Cream Cookie Sandwiches you can find throughout the parks…

Disney Dining Tip: Customized Ice Cream Sandwiches

Editor’s Note: Both Main Street Bakery in Magic Kingdom and Fountainview in Epcot are now Starbucks locations and do not currently offer Customized Ice Cream Sandwiches. They are still available in Magic Kingdom at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor and Sleepy Hollow Refreshments. At Epcot, you can find Macaron Ice Cream Sandwiches at L’Artisan des Glaces in the France Pavilion. Look for them at Dino Bites in Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Scoops in Hollywood Studios.

One of my faaaaaaaaaavorite snacks in Disney World is the homemade ice cream cookie sandwich that can be found in all four parks.

Now I’m not talking about the Nestle “pre-packaged” version (although those are delicious); I’m talking about the fully homemade, ginormous-cookies-with-two-scoops-of-ice-cream-smooshed-between-’em ice cream cookie sammich. Oh look! Here’s one now!

Disney Ice Cream Gallery

July is National Ice Cream Month!!!

And since Sunday was National Ice Cream Day, we’ve put together a gallery of some of our favorite chilly treats from Disney parks and resorts! (Yes, you have permission to have ice cream for breakfast.)

We know we’re not covering everything, and we’d love it if you would leave us a comment mentioning your favorite ice cream-based dessert in a Disney restaurant. Can’t wait to find out what your choices are! 🙂

So now, without further ado, here’s where to go to get some of our favorite sweet-cold treats in our favorite theme parks!

The Plaza Ice Cream Sundae

Scoops of vanilla ice cream drizzled with hot fudge is then covered in whipped cream when you order this Plaza Ice Cream Sundae. There’s not just one, but many crowning cherries on this divine treat.  And that’s all before you get to the crunch of a delicious waffle bowl (if you even make it that far…we didn’t)!

Okay, it’s served in a plastic bowl, which makes it a little less decadent but the crispy waffle bowl will make up for the lack of glassware. Got spare time while waiting curb-side for the parade? Grab one of these little beauties before staking out your piece of pavement! (Or, better yet, let someone else stake it out for you, then head over to the Main Street Ice Cream Parlor to snag one of your own.)

Dole Whip Float

This is practically a food staple at WDW. Hey, it’s a daily fruit serving, right?! The Dole Whip float is soft serve treat with pineapple juice and should be on your Magic Kingdom touring plan.

No visit to Adventureland in the Magic Kingdom is complete without a Dole Whip. Before your flight on Aladdin’s Magic Carpets, sit for a spell and give your taste buds a sensational journey!

What Disney Foods Do YOU Crave?

Well, I’ve been home from Walt Disney World for two weeks now, and I’m already craving some dishes and snacks I know I’m going to have on my next trip (um…Karamell Kuche, anyone?).

So, a while back, I asked over on the Disney Food Blog Facebook Page: What Disney Dish Are You Craving Today? I got some fantastic answers! Let’s take a trip down a delicious road of favorite dishes and menu items in Walt Disney World… (Note: You’ll see some sad news about the Jiko Filet with Mac and Cheese about halfway down the page. Epcot’s Fountain View Ice Cream

Editor’s Note: This location no longer serves ice cream. As of September 4, 2013, Fountain View is now a Starbucks location.

Here’s a food tip: every single Disney park has at least one placed where you can get real, hand-dipped ice cream cones! And if Mickey bars and ice pops aren’t cutting it for you while you’re in Epcot, you can head right over to Fountain View Ice Cream.
