After Hours events have returned to Disney World for 2025 and we couldn’t be more excited!

At EPCOT, After Hours is BACK for select nights from February 27th through September 25th, 2025, and we were at the first event of the year. The capacity for these events is limited so folks have easy access to select park attractions — like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. And, if you’re looking to ride this attraction during After Hours, this is the BEST time to do it.
There was a big shift at Disney World this week and with the changes, there will be one mistake you want to avoid.

The days of waking early to be on your phone to grab a Virtual Queue for Disney World rides are over… for now. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom are now using standby lines instead of the Virtual Queue system. This has impacts on how you will do your next Disney World vacation.
A MAJOR change has come to EPCOT’s newest E-Ticket attraction – – Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – – and it will cause a ripple effect that could change your entire EPCOT trip.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind has been running on Disney’s virtual queue system since the attraction first opened in May of 2022. However, in February of 2025 Disney announced that the ride would be transitioning over to a traditional queue system as of February 25th. This queue change has ramifications not only for riding Cosmic Rewind, but for the park’s other rides, and even which entrance is best to access the park.
It has been an exciting day at Disney World. Both Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom have eliminated virtual queues and now offer standby lines.

That means there are currently no virtual queues in Disney World (although we will likely see more pop up in the future). Of course, we were in the parks checking things out first-hand, and we have some surprising takeaways to share with you!
Some HUGE changes are taking place in Disney World today! For now, there will be no more virtual queues, although we will likely see them return at some point.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Today is the first official day for standby queues at both Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT. Of course, we will be bringing you full coverage of what the crowds and wait times look like today, but you may be wondering if these attractions will be available during Early Entry?

For years, 7 AM has been the make-or-break moment for all of us Disney World guests hoping to secure a spot in the Virtual Queue for rides like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, TRON Lightcycle / Run, or Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. If you weren’t up and ready to go, your shot at riding some of Disney’s biggest attractions without a long standby wait could be gone in seconds. But very soon that early morning stress will be officially over. Starting February 25, 2025, Disney World is officially doing away with Virtual Queues (for the time being), meaning you can roll out of bed whenever you want and still have a chance to ride. Let’s break down what this change means for your next Disney World trip.

But, Disney just announced that the Virtual Queues for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will be going away for good on February 25th, and that’s going to be a game-changer for plenty of reasons — especially since that means there will be no more VQs in Disney World. But, we don’t recommend getting used to that just yet…

Disney just announced that as of February 25th, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT will no longer require a Virtual Queue and will instead switch to a standby line. Some guests are excited about this change, but many others? Well, let’s just say they’re not happy.
After officially being the longest-running Virtual Queue in Disney World ride history, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will soon switch to a standby queue.

This means that riders will no longer have to try to snag a spot in the Virtual Queue on the My Disney Experience app at 7 AM and 1 PM, but instead will be able to join the regular line at any time.
