We spent some time visiting the Grand Floridan and Polynesian Village Resorts while on our way to the Magic Kingdom, and spotted some menu updates for you!
After enjoying a Lapu Lapu at the recently renovated Tambu Lounge we found some menu updates at Kona Island.
The Grand Floridian Gingerbread House has been a tradition for 20 years at Disney World’s flagship Resort!
The 14 feet tall house is made with 1,050 lbs of honey, 800 lbs of flour, 600 lbs of chocolate, 600 lbs of powdered sugar, 140 pints of egg whites, 35 lbs of spices, and, according to Disney, “tons of Disney Magic and Pixie Dust.”
It just so happens that the requisite “tons of Disney Magic and Pixie Dust” come by way of a full team of pastry chefs! And Disney Parks Blog has provided a time-lapse video showing the building of the Gingerbread House in the lobby as a fun holiday treat. Enjoy! [Read more…]
We took a Monorail tour of the Magic Kingdom resorts to find all that’s new for you! We started out in the Contemporary Resort.
We let you know earlier about the Latte Art at Contemporary Grounds. If you’re having a latte this is a fun way to add a smile to your cup of coffee.
We love a good Disney food hack — especially when it combines a duo of our favorite things. And today we’ve got a combo brought to us by Disney Food Blog reader Michael over at @DisneyNumNums! Join us at the Grand Floridian Cafe — and bring your stretchy pants!
Why? Because Michael tells us that if you start with the Grand Floridian Cafe’s Buttermilk Fried Chicken…
…you can end up with some killer Chicken and Waffles — with a Mickey Waffle, no less!
What, what?! In order to make this happen, all you have to do is request a waffle instead of the Crispy Potatoes, Kale, and Bacon that the chicken usually comes with!
You’ll get a choice between a Belgian Waffle and the Mickey Waffle — and you get to keep that Sriracha-Honey Drizzle (and get more on the side, if you want!)!
The server also brought hot maple syrup, butter, and ketchup — just in case you want to change things up a little! How fun is this?! Many thanks to Michael for sharing with us!
What’s your favorite Disney food hack? Share with us in the comments!
Happy Saturday! We’re back with another DFB Video for the weekend, and we’re taking you on a Food Tour of Disney World’s Grand Floridian Resort!
The Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is Disney World’s Flagship Resort. And as such, this Deluxe Resort offers a ton of dining options. The range includes everything from Counter Service to a Character Meal to Signature Dining Restaurants… including the AAA’s Five Diamond Award-winning Victoria & Albert’s. Join us as we take you through all the dining stops along the way at the Grand Floridian Resort! [Read more…]

We all love decking the halls for the holidays (okay, maybe not all of us… but many of us!). But taking all the decorations down? Admittedly, it’s nowhere near as fun. But none of us are alone. The decorations have to come down at Disney World, too. And every year, one of the first things to come down is the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House.
Yep, while many of the Christmas trees and wreaths stick around for a few days into the New Year, the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House’s last day of operation is January 1st. So what happens when the Gingerbread House is taken down?
