If you’re heading to the Disneyland Resort in March, be forewarned that one of its premier hotel restaurants, Storytellers Cafe, will be closed for a brief refurbishment.

The popular eatery, located at the Grand Californian Hotel, will be “temporarily closed for refurbishment for a few weeks in March,” according to Disney.
Disneyland is full of tons of different dining options and snacks; sometimes, it can feel hard to decide where to go.

That’s why we’re here, thankfully! We’ve eaten all around the resort, so keep an eye out for all our latest snack news so you know what’s worth your money (and what may not be) when you take your trip. Some dining spots get new menu items each month, which means it is time for us to head over to Craftsman Grill to try its new hot dog of the month. Spoiler alert: we were VERY surprised by this thing.

That means we’re still celebrating by trying out even MORE tasty Star Wars-themed snacks at Disneyland (though they won’t be here forever!). So far, we’ve had a new kind of Blue Milk (with MANGO!), a gigantic Wookie Cookie, and even Star Wars-themed pasta. Now we’re back to try out a new lightsaber-themed treat — and no, it’s NOT a churro!

The Get Your Ears On celebration is in full effect in Disneyland Resort, the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa is joining the party with two awesome eats! Our Disneyland correspondent Heather (killin’ it @DiningInDisney!) found a few soft open items yesterday — including this Mickey Shaped(?) Pizza at Hearthstone Lounge!

If you’re staying at one of the three Disneyland Hotels – Disneyland Hotel, Paradise Pier, or Grand Californian – this Halloween Time season you are in for some Halloween Time Treats!

Each Hotel has been decorated – one even taken over – for the season, plus there’s Trick or Treating, a Halloween Bakery Cart, and some special performances.
Just a few weeks ago, we shared that Tangaroa Terrace at the Disneyland Hotel would be closing for refurbishment.

And now, Disney is revealing what’s to come as a result of the work! Look for the Terrace to reopen in early 2019 as the Tangaroa Terrace Bar & Grill!
A new outdoor bar and an updated patio will provide spots for guests to enjoy island cocktails and Asian-inspired cuisine. Inside there will be new details including light fixtures made of colorful fishing floats and netting, a tropical mural, and bamboo accents. But, don’t worry, the Tiki-inspired design will still be present in the renovated space.
And a new bar and patio aren’t all the changes! Guests will be able to enjoy Dole Whip throughout the day and coffee drinks in the morning from a dedicated service window. This week, guest chef Carol returns with one of my FAVORITE recipes! This time she cooks up the Corn Chowder from the Storytellers Café at the Grand Californian in the Disneyland Resort!
So, I’d never been to Disneyland California until just recently! I know, I know, but please hear me out before you judge! I grew up in Central Florida…in Walt Disney World’s backyard.
But recently, I made my first trip to Disneyland! It was just like the commercials…you know with all the families making memories together! We were there with my husband’s family including our two cute, adorable li’l nieces! I couldn’t wait to wear those fun Family Reunion pins.
The first thing I did when I found out we were going was make my foodie list…of course! I also dug into my Disney cookbooks to start making fun dishes at home to get us excited about the trip.
I was excited to find several fun recipes from Disneyland California in my Cooking with Mickey and the Disney Chefs cookbook. The Storytellers Cafe Corn Chowder definitely caught my eye, since my grocery store is full of fresh, sweet corn right now. The recipe is served fresh every day in the Storytellers Café at Disneyland’s Grand Californian Resort, and it’s been on the menu since the restaurant opened.

This recipe is super easy to make and can be ready to serve the same night you make it! So, let’s get started:
This is a great one to make during the Summer when you’ve got all kinds of fresh sweet corn at the farmers’ markets and grocery stores!

-2 slices bacon, diced
-1 tbsp diced onion
