Despite the recent health and safety changes in Disney World, the global pandemic continues to take a toll on the tourism industry. Internationally, some of Disney’s other parks are still closed, like Hong Kong Disneyland.

NEWS: Florida Tourism Numbers Once Again EXCEED Pre-Pandemic Levels

The travel industry has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, but things are starting to improve in some places.

The crowds have certainly returned to Disney World!

Due to the pandemic, we’ve seen limits on crowds and capacity due to social distancing requirements and travel restrictions. But, recently many of those limits and restrictions have been removed. There’s something special about visiting the Disney parks at night. Maybe it’s the pretty lights, or maybe it’s the spectacular entertainment you can only see after the sun goes down. If you love Disney nightlife as much as we do, you may want to check out a Disneyland After Dark event! These after-hour events are similar to the ones in Disney World, providing guests with special themes, activities, entertainment, and lower attraction wait times!

NEWS: Shanghai Disney Temporarily Suspends Entry Due to COVID-19

To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.

UPDATE: Shanghai Disney will remain closed on November 1st-2nd — guests will be notified when Disney has confirmed a date to resume operations.

In Florida, Disney World has been slowly returning to “normal” with modified character meet and greets and an optional outdoor mask policy. Importantly, though, safety is at the heart of all of Disney’s decisions, which is why Disney suspended entry into one of its theme parks on Halloween.

NEWS: Disney Cruise Line Cancels Select Cruises Through October

The global health pandemic has had a major impact on the cruise industry. Even Disney has stated that Disney Cruise Line would be the last arm of its business to return.

Will Disney set sail again this year?

Disney Cruise Line has also stated that it hopes to resume some limited cruises by fall and even recently released itineraries for summer 2022. However, sailings are still suspended. Previously, U.S. departures have been canceled through June 2021, and European cruises on the Disney Magic were canceled through September 18th. Now more cruises on the Disney Magic in Europe have been canceled.

NEWS: Dr. Fauci Says U.S. Could Return to Some Normalcy By Fall

Last year, the pandemic caused the closure of every Disney park in the world. And some parks are still closed.

Although Disney World reopened last summer, the park is currently operating at limited capacity (which was recently raised from 25 to 35 percent), with new health and safety guidelines that include temperature checks upon entry into the park and a mask requirement for all guests over the age of two.
