The Gingerbread House in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa opened in its new spot on Wednesday, and we were there to check it out!
The Gingerbread House is celebrating its 20th year in 2018, and it’s set up in an all-new location!
Treats, treats, everywhere!
We’re loving the epic food crawls we’re embarking upon on BOTH coasts, with Disneyland, California Adventure Park, and Walt Disney World packed from kiosk to food booth and from counter service to table service with seasonal bites and beverages.
And because it’s Disney, you know some krispy treats had to get in on the action! At Disneyland, we found these aaa-dorable Minnie and Mickey krispies decorated to resemble sweet gingerbread cookies.
I love all of the larger-than-life Gingerbread Displays around Disney World during the Holiday Season. You know this. But I must confess… I’ve got a favorite. It’s just not the Holidays until I see (and sniff!) the Gingerbread Carousel at Disney’s Beach Club Resort!
That’s why it’s especially good news that it is now up and spinning for guests visiting the Beach Club!
One of the reasons I love the Gingerbread Carousel so much is that it’s new every year. The theme last year, for instance, was the Fab Five, with horses for Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. (As man’s and mouse’s best friend, Pluto got his own display placed just outside of the Carousel). And for 2017, the Carousel is themed with Lilo and Stitch! [Read more…]
The holidays at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are in full swing, with merchandise, food, and drinks tailor made to create holiday cheer for guests of all ages. And with the Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure, there are more eats than ever!
But one item that’s not part of the Festival of Holidays booths has us particularly giddy with excitement: Gingerbread Funnel Cake Fries. They’re available at Award Wieners, and they are awesome!
It’s time to trade Pumpkin Spice for GINGERBREAD at Walt Disney World for the Holiday Season!
The Pastry Chefs are putting the final touches on the brand new 2017 Gingerbread Display at the Contemporary Resort. [Read more…]
Gingerbread displays at Walt Disney World
have become such an exciting part of the holiday celebrations that guests can literally plan an entire day around seeing them all. (We even include some tips on how to do so in our DFB Guide to Walt Disney World Holidays!)
And it is not hard to see why! Gingerbread is done bigger and better at the Disney Resorts, with literally HUNDREDS of pounds of ingredients being shaped and engineered — you might even say “imagineered” — in unbelievable ways that you just have to see with your own eyes! [Read more…]
One of my favorite parts of this time of year is seeing all of the Gingerbread House Displays at the Disney World Resort Hotels! Better yet, I love spying all of the new festive sweets available at the displays. And this year, The Boardwalk Inn is hosting not only an updated display, but a few new treats as well… .
For the past few years, the BoardWalk Inn has returned to celebrating its turn-of-the-century Atlantic seashore theme with its gingerbread display.
For 2015, the simultaneous display and shop (a la the Grand Floridian Gingerbread House) has been reimagined as Ginger’s Bread and Cookie Shoppe. [Read more…]

Thanks in part to a little annual shindig known as The Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights, Hollywood Studios has a reputation for spreading holiday cheer in its own unique way… and that’s right down to the snacks!
This year there are a few newcomers to the mix as well as some old favorites. We were so excited to find these killer new snacks to share with you!
is playing host to a VERY hidden holiday gem… so well hidden, in fact, that you can’t even see it on a sign.
On the menu, you just see the simple mention of “Seasonal Shakes.” I took it upon myself to find out exactly what that means in regards to the Yuletide… and THIS is what I found: the Peppermint Shake!
The name “Peppermint Shake” is actually a bit misleading. The peppermint comes solely from the crushed candy cane on top of the whipped cream. The base, however, is made of Red Velvet ice Cream.
That mild cocoa flavor that Red Velvet is known for is [Read more…]

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…in Disney World!
As we look forward to the holiday season in Walt Disney World, let’s take a look at when to expect the artful (and edible) decor to go on display this year! Several Disney deluxe resorts showcase massive holiday gingerbread displays, and we’ve got info and photos about where and when to see them below!
And if you’re really craving all there is to know about the holidays in Walt Disney World, it’s time to treat yourself (or a friend!) to the DFB Guide to the Walt Disney World® Holidays 2012 e-Book! We’ve included all of the gingerbread displays, when to visit them, and more!
The gingerbread displays at Disney’s deluxe resorts are created by the Walt Disney World Food and Beverage team. Sometimes you can even watch the chefs put on the finishing touches! In addition to the beautiful displays, storefronts at each display sell yummy treats, and 2012 limited edition Gingerbread Display pins!
As your eyes try to take in the enormous Christmas tree in the lobby, your sense of smell will lead you toward the 16 foot tall Gingerbread House located in the Grand Floridian Resort. Stop by November 19th – December 31st!
It takes over 400 hours to bake the 10,000+ pieces of gingerbread! Look closely and you may even see puffs of smoke coming from the chimney!
Don’t forget that you can purchase a treat made from a classic Austrian gingerbread recipe right inside the Gingerbread House!! Freshly baked items will include [Read more…]
