It’s been a busy week over in Hollywood Studios! We’ve rounded up all the updates for you — new eats, new merchandise and LOTS of construction.
We don’t expect to see these Christmas decorations up much longer! They have been busy in the last few days in the park with lots of new updates, starting with the Skyliner station!
If you’re anything like us, you’re anxiously seeking details about Galaxy’s Edge at Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Scheduled to open in the fall of 2019, work continues in earnest… at least as much as we can see.
On a visit to the park yesterday, we were able to capture a little more detail of this building that’s being constructed adjacent to Tatooine Traders.
Wrapping is down on this project (it was there just last week), so we can see a lot more detail, like the green tile roof and linear, simple overall design.
Greetings from Hollywood Studios! As Christmas winds down in the parks we found some changes in the park (Slinky Dog, where’s your tail?) as well as some new additions, and of course some new merchandise to welcome in 2019!
We’ll start this week’s tour out in Animation Courtyard where there’s a brand new Disney Junior Dance Party that is pretty fun!
Along with new details regarding what guests will see and experience when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in Disneyland this summer and Disney’s Hollywood Studios this fall, we also have more information regarding the possible timeline for the opening of Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland.
In an interview with Barron’s with Disney CEO Bob Iger, Iger is quoted as saying: “When Star Wars opens in Anaheim in June and in Florida later in the year, that’s adding capacity. You’re adding 14 acres of land (each), more rides and more for people to do. It’s the biggest land we’ve ever built.” [Read more…]
A sneak peek of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge has been provided by Barron’s who spent some time touring the construction site for the upcoming land in Disneyland accompanied by executives from construction, operations, and Disney Imagineering. And they have shared some details from their visit!
To begin, Barron’s shared that guests will enter Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland through one of three entrance points near Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Critter Country. “Short, enclosed passageways between lands are designed to compress and then expand the view of visitors, like a movie fading out and then back in, to ensure that the first sight of Galaxy’s Edge is a carefully framed, cinematic view.” [Read more…]
