The Star Wars-inspired land in Disneyland and Walt Disney World is gearing up for lots of fun thanks to the May the 4th celebrations! These annual festivities bring new snacks, fun merch, and more to the parks! Now, a special experience in both parks is changing for a limited time, and we are so excited!

If you’ve been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios before, you probably know the basics—no cutting in line, no costumes for adults, and no running (even when you’re speed-walking to Slinky Dog Dash at rope drop). But Disney also has some lesser-known rules that might surprise you. Here are 4 unexpected rules you’ll need to know before heading to Hollywood Studios.
While you can participate in your own Star Wars story every visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios thanks to the wonder that is Galaxy’s Edge, but there’s one day out of the year that’s extra special for Star Wars fans.
Galaxy’s Edge
May 4th is known as Star Wars day since the phrase “May the force be with you” from the films sounds very similar to “May the 4th be with you.” During this time, you can often find some special snacks, merchandise, and more in the park, which is why it’s important to plan way ahead if you’d like to participate. However, we’ve got some bad news for Annual Passholders — reservations for May 4th are already sold out!
There are different ways that you can make your time waiting for Disney World rides and attractions a bit shorter.
Cosmic Rewind Queue
The most obvious one is purchasing Lighting Lane Multi, Single, or Premier Pass. You can also wait in the single rider line if a ride offers it. Well, a new way to “skip” the line at Disney World just debuted, and then was quietly removed just weeks later.
When you think of a Disney Cruise, you probably think about a sunny destination, tons of food, and relaxing.
Hyperspace Lounge on the Disney Wish
What if your fellow cruisers were not just humans but also droids? The Disney Wish is home to a few Star Wars-themed areas, including the Hyperspace Lounge and an area dedicated to all things out of this galaxy in the Oceaneer Club. While these spaces are made for humans to enjoy, who says that droids also don’t deserve a vacation sailing the high seas?

From the additions of Toy Story Land and Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge to attraction re-themes like Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, the park looks completely different than it did when it opened in 1989. The changes are far from over, as Disney has announced even more updates for the park.

The park has two new lands, which have changed the landscape and overall feel. In 2018, Toy Story Land was added, and in 2019, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge joined the park line-up. In 2017, fan-favorite attraction The Great Movie Ride closed to make way for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railroad, which would open in the park in 2020. The park has seen so many changes, and more changes are on the way as a new Monsters Inc. Land that will feature the highly anticipated and rumored door coaster was announced. While some change is good, some Disney Adults feel that the park is no longer worth the visit.
