Don’t worry too much, though — so far, each park only has ONE temporary closure (although more unplanned closures could pop up if rides experience technical difficulties or there’s bad weather in the area). This year begins the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company and we are celebrating! A new 100th-anniversary merchandise collection, new snacks, and new decorations around the parks have been around for a few months now but we just found something online that will help you celebrate even at home.
If you’re going to Disney World this next week, there are still a few things you should do to prepare. Have you made your packing list yet? Decided which rides you’re heading to first? Planned out what snacks you’ll get in each park? All of those are important, and you should also prepare by finding out what’s going to be CLOSED at the parks and hotels.

When we head to the Disney World theme parks each morning, we usually see a few temporary closures impacting some of the rides and attractions. For example, Pirates of the Caribbean in Magic Kingdom has had a couple of rough mornings recently and was down for a few hours a couple of days ago. Spaceship Earth in EPCOT was having trouble as well, and it was closed for a couple of hours in the morning two days in a row.

These temporary closures generally only last a few hours, and you can keep checking the My Disney Experience app to see when the ride reopens that same day. However, some closures last for days, weeks, or even months. Disney generally plans those longer closures well in advance so that you’re aware of them before your visit. There’s a LOT of planning that goes into a great Disney World trip. You’ll need to buy tickets and make park pass reservations, book some dining reservations, choose the best hotel for your group, and decide whether or not to purchase Genie+ during your vacation.
