We FINALLY rode Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the EPCOT walls are DOWN for good, Universal just DOUBLED the size of Epic Universe and so much more!
All of the latest theme park news is coming up right now on DFB Guide.
We’re still a ways away from the opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, but that hasn’t stopped us from being SUPER excited about Universal’s third park.
The new park will have a total of five NEW themed lands, meaning new rides — and more importantly — new RESTAURANTS. There will also be THREE new hotels, including one hotel that will be located INSIDE the park. Yep, Universal has BIG things in store for Epic Universe. How big? Well, let’s just say that the size of Epic Universe is now more than twice as big as we initially thought.
Okay, who’s getting excited about Epic Universe?
The more details we get, the more, well, EPIC Universal Orlando’s upcoming third park sounds, right? We’ve been getting a ton of details about some of the lands that the park will feature, including Isle of Berk — How To Train Your Dragon, Super Nintendo World, and Celestial Park. We’re still waiting for more details about the two other lands, Dark Universe, and a new Harry Potter-themed land. In the meantime, though, we’re visiting Universal’s NEW Epic Universe Preview Center, which means we’re about to learn even MORE about this new park!
Can you believe we’re (hopefully) just about a year away from the opening of Epic Universe in Orlando?
While no official opening date has been announced yet, it’s long been mentioned that Universal plans to have the new park open “certainly in time for Summer 2025,” and we count that as being less than a year away! But what’s construction looking like? Will they be able to meet this timeline? Let’s take a look!
We’re still about a year away from the grand opening of Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe.
However, Universal has been releasing details about its new park, including more information about the park’s five themed lands. We recently learned a lot more about Isle of Berk — How To Train Your Dragon, as well Super Nintendo World, and Celestial Park. However, something has already changed in Epic Universe, way ahead of its opening — one of its roller coasters recently got a new name.
Disney World might be in for a bit of a rough year by the time 2025 rolls around.
Sure, the EPCOT Transformation will be complete by then and we may even know more about the theme park expansions Disney has planned. But, Universal’s Epic Universe is opening in 2025 and the hype has already been building for quite a while now. Disney has been criticized for not responding to Epic Universe in any significant way, but recent comments from CEO Bob Iger promise that Disney isn’t worried.
Take a look at this map. Right now, only some of this actually exists, but soon, Universal Epic Universe will open near Universal Orlando and bring a TON of new rides, shows, restaurants, and shops to Orlando. Who’s excited?

So far, all we really know about the opening date is that Epic Universe will open in 2025 (but we’re closely watching and patiently waiting for an exact opening date). This new park is set to be Universal’s “most ambitious theme park yet,” and “Epic Universe will present a level of theme park immersion and innovation that is unmatched.” Whew! That sounds promising, right? Look out for over 50 new attractions, plus new entertainment, dining, and shopping. This expansion is so big that Universal revealed it will nearly double the size of Universal Orlando Resort.
By this time next year, Universal Orlando’s new park, Epic Universe, could be open!
We’re still waiting for an official opening date to be announced, but until that comes, we’re keeping a close eye on all the latest construction updates. One of the most anticipated new lands is the new Ministry of Magic section, which is partially set in Paris (from the Fantastic Beasts films), and well, we think it’s looking really familiar!
Are you getting as excited about Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe as we are?
We’re starting to learn so much about the five themed lands coming to the new theme park! We recently learned some fun new details about Super Nintendo World and the Isle of Berk (which is inspired by How To Train Your Dragon). We have a lot of details about the new park’s entrance area, Celestial Park, too. We’re also super stoked to learn more about Dark Universe, but for now, we have NEW construction photos of its roller coaster, Curse of the Werewolf.
Epic Universe is opening in Orlando, Florida NEXT SUMMER. And we’re on a MISSION to learn EVERYTHING we can about Universal’s third park gate.
Let’s take a deep dive together through everything that’s been released for this new theme park area so far to unlock Universal’s greatest MYSTERIES before they’re officially revealed!
