You know how sometimes we tell you about a slightly out-of-the-way place and say it’s totally worth the effort to get there? This will not be one of those times. Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar and Grille is located adjacent to (the stupendously awesome) Stormalong Bay at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and offers alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and a small menu of snacks for hungry swimmers (and any hungry passersby).
The style of this outdoor bar is slightly nautical, with clean lines and neat hanging lanterns. There’s seating at the bar, which is covered and provides some shade.
We’re still newly into 2018! And tradition dictates that we ring in the New Year with some bubbly. While that’s never a bad choice when the clock strike midnight, I’ve got some ideas for ways you can celebrate with a drink in Walt Disney World no matter what time of year your visit falls in 2018!
These are some of the sips we most enjoyed over the past year… and can’t wait to enjoy again in 2018!
Did you think Amorette’s Patisserie showcased nothing more than artful cakes and pastries? Then think again. Because this Disney Springs sweet spot is home to the vino that went VIRAL in 2017: Wine Slushies!
Choose from two fruity flavors: Strawberry Shiraz and Mango Moscato (an Apple Cider Riesling even appeared on the menu for the 2017 holiday season).
We know that the holiday season can be a busy time, so the last thing you might think you need is another holiday to celebrate. But Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant in Disney Springs wants you to know about a holiday beer fans will be celebrating all month. Yup — it’s National Lager Day! Who knew?!
Okay, so Halloween is over, and Christmas decor is going up all over Walt Disney World (most noticeably in Hollywood Studios, which you can catch over on our Instagram!). But before we get knee deep in snowmen and Santa hats, we’ve gotta try the brand new Candy Corn Margarita being poured over at the Hollywood Studios pop-up bars!
This seasonal drink is crafted from Patron Silver Tequila, Stoli Vanil Vodka, Fanta Orange, and a splash of Lemonade. And it comes with a glow cube! [Read more…]

Port Orleans Resort, Riverside!
And Ol’ Man Island, with its fabulous, amoeba-shaped pool!
Nestled right by Ol’ Man Island is the home-y and rustic Muddy Rivers Pool Bar, and it’s everything you want out of a pool bar in the Bayou. (Haven’t thought about what you’d want out of a pool bar in the bayou? Let us help you visualize it.) There’s wood everywhere you look, including exposed rafters. At the base of the bar are weathered vertical wood panels in a variety of colors, creating the feeling that this bar has been pieced together over time. [Read more…]

What’s a Disney foodie to do when the parks close, but she’s still raring to go? Hit the BoardWalk, baby!
And while you can pretty much always count on seeing me sitting in the back of Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar editing photos til 2AM, there’s another bar on the BoardWalk that is so fun and unusual that you’ve got to check it out at least once!
Abracadabar opened just over a year ago, and it’s been enticing guests ever since. The backstory is that this was the gathering place for BoardWalk magicians and entertainers decades ago — and that the magic is still in the air. (I mean, you’re at Disney World so Disney magic is everywhere already! But this is magic magic!)
You can experience the Abracadabar magic nightly (the bar opens at 4PM), and it’s accessible via the BoardWalk and via hallways to both Flying Fish and Trattoria al Forno, so you can start or finish your meal here easily!
The exterior of Abracadabar fits with the BoardWalk theming while also giving a hint to the vintage magic you’ll find inside.
We got an unexpected look at the construction of BaseLine Tap House in Disney’s Hollywood Studios today. The construction walls, which normally hide this very un-magical work from guest view, were down, presumably due to the approaching hurricane.
BaseLine Tap House — which will serve beer, wine, and appetizers — will reside on Grand Avenue, a new-ish area that’s designed to capture “the spirit of Downtown Los Angeles.” We say new-ish because it’ll mostly be located in the remnants of Streets of America.
Let’s take a look! So far there’s lots of stylized fencing and lamp posts.

These days, if there’s a Nighttime Spectacular at a Disney World park, there’s bound to be a Dessert Party to go with it! These extra-ticket events have become a popular splurge option for guests who want some sweets to go along with the fabulous nighttime shows (not to mention the ease of reserving a prime viewing spot without waiting an hour before the fireworks begin).
Recently I reviewed the Happily Ever After Dessert Party at Magic Kingdom; but the Frozen Ever After Dessert Party kicked off in Epcot in July, so I wanted to get in on that action to relax and unwind after my VERY full day covering the Best of the Fest at the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival.
‘Cuz that’s how I roll. Check it out with me!
You may recall that for the past few years, guests could reserve the Sparkling IllumiNations Dessert Party, which also featured a dessert buffet and a reserved area for IllumiNations viewing.
But in July, Epcot replaced the Sparkling Party with the current Frozen theme. Now, look: we know some of you are completely Frozen-ed out. We hear you. But your kid may not be just yet. And this new party includes one neat perk. It still features plenty of desserts, and it still offers a great view of the show. But now, an after-hours ride on Frozen Ever After is included once the smoke clears from IllumiNations! [Read more…]

If you didn’t get a chance to take a final spin on the Universe of Energy, there’s still a way to pay tribute to the classic Epcot attraction.
Just stop by La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico Pavilion!
Just like in fall of 2014 when La Cava honored the Maelstrom with a specialty margarita (which you can still get today!), the Universe of Energy has received a nod with the Universe of Energy Margarita!
This tribute-in-a-glass features Mezcal, Senorio Blanco, Liquor Ancho Reyes Verde, Guanabana Liqeuer (which is made with the Guanabana fruit [aka soursop] and rum and has flavors of strawberry and pineapple), fresh apple and lemon juice, and agave nectar.
It’s served on the rocks, as you can see here. [Read more…]
