We always want to make sure you are as prepared as possible for your Disney World trip, and one thing you need to be on the lookout for is possible closures and refurbishments. We don’t want you to be disappointed when you roll up to your favorite ride only to find out it is closed for refurbishment.

There are TWO big changes to the closures in Disney World this week, and we want to make sure you are aware of them. Plus, we are also rounding up everything else that will be closed this week.

That means we’re SO ready to try out some May the 4th treats in Disney World (yay, Star Wars food!). However, we recently got to try out some new snacks in the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT (oh, yeah) and revisited Backlot Express in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We also kept an eye on Disney World restaurant menus, and we’ve got a few changes to warn you about.
We are getting close to being ONE month out from the opening of two brand-new Disney shows in Disney’s Hollywood Studios! On April 27th, we will be just one month away from the debut of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.”

We have been waiting (not so) patiently for the grand opening show, and we are getting closer and closer! However, we still have a bit before they open. Let’s take a closer look at what these shows are replacing and what else is closed in Disney World this week.

Hollywood Studios
From major holidays like Christmas and Halloween to celebrations like World Princess Week or Women’s History Month, Disney World takes every chance to do a little something-something for a holiday. We often see limited-time snacks for a variety of occasions — it seems like they’re available year-round these days! And coming soon, it’ll be time to celebrate a holiday dedicated to a popular franchise…Star Wars Day.
Disney World is currently preparing for numerous new experiences in the coming years and refurbishing current attractions. Brand-new lands, including Pueblo Esperanza, Monsters, Inc. Land, and Villains Land will be coming. Plus, new lounges like the GEO-82 lounge in EPCOT will be opening, and new shows such as “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” in Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be debuting.

As well, Test Track, Big Thunder Mountain, and Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will also be refreshed. While we are excited about new openings and refreshed attractions, these updates also mean there will be closures that could impact your trip.

Back in 2017, DisneyQuest closed down in Disney Springs, and its home on the West Side was vacant for two years before the NBA Experience replaced it in 2019. Unfortunately, the NBA Experience wasn’t as popular as Disney had hoped, and it never reopened after the 2020 pandemic. But now, LEVEL99 is moving into that same building, and we’ve got some new details about construction!
There are HUNDREDS of places to eat around Disney World, and just hearing that sentence often makes people panic.

We totally understand why — that’s A LOT to think about — but that’s why we’re here! We’ve tried every single restaurant in Disney World and continue to go back to make sure we’re keeping up with the latest menu items and see how the quality is holding up to help you decide where to go. However, there are some restaurants that are MUCH more popular than others and reservations often fill up fast. If any of these are on your list for your next trip, keep a close eye out and be ready to snag them as soon as your 60-day window opens up!
