Just yesterday we chatted with you guys about the new Alex and Ani designer ears making their way to the parks on July 5th.
But now, Disney has released even MORE information on these ever so popular designer ears.
Aunt Polly’s in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is an adorable little counter service restaurant on Tom Sawyer Island that’s rarely open, and is usually only serving during holidays and very busy times in the parks.
While the restaurant was supposed to be open and serving during this holiday week, we’ve had reports from our readers that it’s not been welcoming guests as planned. Here’s what you need to know about the situation:
A cast member in the Magic Kingdom told us that there’s been a maintenance issue (a water pipe leak, specifically) on the island, requiring Aunt Polly’s to delay or halt their opening. According to the cast member we spoke with, it will be a daily decision whether or not Aunt Polly’s will open during this holiday timeframe.
Guests who are interested in visiting the restaurant on the island this week should check with @WDWToday — the official Walt Disney World twitter account — on the day you’d like to visit to confirm whether the restaurant will be opening or not before you board your raft to head all the way over! 🙂
A team member has since reached out to @WDWToday and was told Aunt Polly’s is indeed open the week of July 4th. However, we have not been able to confirm this news ourselves.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated here at DFB!

Fun news tonight, my friends! We’ve been on the lookout for several changes around Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel recently, including the newly re-opened Tangaroa Terrace and the refurbished White Water Snacks. But possibly the most highly anticipated change was the brand new hotel pool bar — and we’ve got a FIRST LOOK for you tonight!
The new pool bar was designed to incorporate natural boulder stonework, a custom mural, and trellis work for shade. You can see the definite Craftsman-style influence — in keeping with the hotel’s look and feel — throughout the photos below.
It’s officially the week of the Fourth of July!
And Disney World is celebrating with patriotic treats like the Fourth of July Cupcake from All Star Music and the new cupcake we spotted today at Restaurantosaurus in Animal Kingdom.
I’m just going to start out by saying that I don’t think I’ve ever been more in love with a pair of ears in my life.
Yes, I know dramatic, right? But, really the new Alex and Ani designer ears are something I thought only existed “Once Upon A Dream.”
The live-action version of The Lion King finally comes out July 19 and we can hardly wait! In celebration of the upcoming film, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has introduced some awesome new items including Simba and Nala plushes and a drum souvenir popcorn bucket!
TODAY, we found even MORE Lion King merchandise at the park and we can’t wait to tell you about it!
Help! We’ve got ourselves a Code 2319! A cone 2319, that is!
That’s right, the newest character cone to arrive in Magic Kingdom is the 2319 Cone!
