News: Lunar New Year Celebration Expanding With Three Marketplace Booths in Disney California Adventure

The Lunar New Year Celebration in Disney California Adventure Park will expand to 17 days in 2017!

Running from Friday, January 20th through Sunday, February 5th, the Festival will offer live performances throughout the Paradise Garden area, extra activities and decorations, special merchandise, and Disney characters — Mickey and Minnie, Mulan and Mushu — all dressed up to celebrate the Lunar New Year!

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror – 13th Hour will take place for one night only on Sunday, January 1st. Starting at 10:00 pm, guests will enjoy a dessert buffet and live music while having access to the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in its original form before the attraction is transformed into “Guardians of the Galaxy — Mission: Breakout.” The party will last until 1:00 am on January 2nd (which is the attraction’s final day of operation). News: MENUS UP for Disneyland’s Festival of Holidays!

The very first Festival of Holidays debuts in Disney California Adventure on November 10th! AAAAAH! Heather and I are SO EXCITED!

Part of the celebration — which will also include live music and dance performances, beautiful decorations, and a special holiday version of the World of Color nighttime spectacular — is the addition of FOURTEEN festive marketplaces (wha?!?!?) featuring global holiday cuisine!

With all the additional eats, it will likely be well worth it — much like the Epcot Food and Wine Festival — to study up on the various booth menus before your visit. So it’s a good thing they’ve just been released!

Well, you’re not alone :). So it might be handy to know that Carthay Circle Restaurant is offering a Dining Package that includes preferred viewing for the show in addition to a three-course prix fixe lunch.

Adults will start with a soup and salad duo, then follow up with their choice of entree: Roasted Chicken Breast, Heirloom Tomato and Avocado with poblano-lime vinaigrette, or an Herb-crusted Petite Filet of Angus Beef with Point Reyes blue cheese risotto, spinach and wild mushrooms.  The Kids’ menu offers a choice of soup or salad and a variety of Mickey Check Meals to choose from (mini crispy tacos and orecchiette pasta with tomato sauce among them). News: Festival of Holidays To Bring New Eats to Disney California Adventure

It was a HAPPY DAY when it was announced that the Disney California Food & Wine Festival would return to the Disneyland Resort for 2016 after a four year hiatus. Running on weekends throughout April 2016, it was a much-welcome celebration of food, wine, and the culinary scene in California.

Dining in Disneyland Review: World of Color Dessert Party in Disney California Adventure

This past March, the Disneyland Resort introduced the World of Color Dessert Party.  My family and I had the pleasure of attending recently, and what a special treat it was!  I’m always up for a Disney Dessert Party. I’ve done the Fanstasmic Dessert Party at Disneyland (currently on hiatus due to construction) and also a handful of different dessert parties at Walt Disney World.

I’m excited to say that the World of Color Dessert Party both met and exceeded my expectations!  The dessert party starts one hour prior to World of Color show time.  Reservations must be made in advance either online or by calling Disney Dining; the dessert parties are nightly.
