We’ll be the first to admit that ride closures can put a damper on your Disney World vacation, but sometimes they are NECESSARY.

When some attractions have been open upwards of 50 years, it’s pretty necessary for Disney to close them occasionally for technological, structural, and safety updates. Even the newer rides need help sometimes, too! So when it was announced that a Magic Kingdom ride was closing for refurbishment to get some much-needed changes, we were actually fairly excited.

This Is the Best Disney’s Hollywood Studios News We’ve Seen All Month

If you haven’t been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 10 years, you’re going to be pretty flabbergasted the next time you step into the park.

With additions in the past several years like Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, plus upcoming changes to Muppets Courtyard (insert sad trombone noise here) and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the park is pretty much going to be unrecognizable from its MGM Studios days. However, amidst all the somewhat controversial changes, we did get some pretty good news about this park!

Quite a few rides will be closing in 2025, with a mix of refurbishments and permanent closures due to construction projects. That means you’ve got to check those calendars before your vacation to make sure your favorite attraction is still operating! Quite a few attractions will be CLOSING in Disney World in 2025.

Some attractions will be closing permanently to make way for other offerings, like Tom Sawyer Island, Liberty Square Riverboat, and TriceraTop Spin. But outside of the permanent closures, there will also be a few attractions that close for refurbishment…and now one has been added to the list!

Also, we have the scheduled closures of Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat as construction begins on the new Cars attractions for Frontierland. But what about seasonal refurbishments? I mean, it’s a place where screams echo, stars zoom by, and every ride feels like a galactic journey. It’s definitely a Magic Kingdom right of passage ride. But here’s the deal, Space Mountain isn’t just about blasting off into space. It’s also about following the rules. We love Cast Members, and we know they work hard to keep us safe while we’re hurtling through the dark at warp speed. And believe me, they have seen it all.
