In Disney World, the Fourth of July promises three things: fireworks, patriotic treats, and…crowds. We headed out to the parks and braved those crowds today so we could bring you the most accurate information on what the Disney World crowds are like on a holiday!

It’s going by so fast!
We feel like it was just January, but then we blinked, and now it’s July! Pretty soon, Halloween festivities will start appearing in the parks (yup, seriously!). But for now, we can still enjoy the summer and those lovely long wait times that come with the season. Let’s take a look at the average wait times from this week in Disney World!
Anyone who’s traveled by air recently will probably tell you the same thing — it’s chaotic out there!
Do you fly to Disney World?
Ahead of the 4th of July weekend, over 1,000 flights were canceled partly due to increases in staffing shortages, and airlines are trying to get ahead of the weekend demand. Experts are predicting that this weekend could set travel records — but flights continue to be canceled in high numbers.
More chaotic air travel may be on the horizon.
Are you flying into Orlando this year?
Of course, an increase in travelers is expected this 4th of July weekend. There are so many places to go for the holiday — including Disney World! But the increase in traveling is hitting at a time when flight cancelations and staffing shortages are on the rise.

During a trip, our first stop is usually Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, or EPCOT. But how about Disney Springs?! It’s HOT. And humid. And also, probably crowded! The parks are filled with guests taking their vacations in between school years, so you’ll need a special set of skills to navigate the theme parks during this time of year. And if you’re traveling soon, we want to help set your expectations properly, so we’re sharing a full crowd update on what Disney World looks like right now!
There are some pretty cool queues in Disney World! Seriously, some of the theming is SO intricate, like on Rise of the Resistance and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Then, there are queues that are interactive, like over at Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Peter Pan’s Flight.

These rides definitely reign superior to those that are almost completely outside with nothing to do, or for those where you’re basically just standing in the dark (looking at you, The Seas with Nemo and Friends!). Luckily, the rides with the longest wait times usually (not always) tend to have pretty interesting queues.
