Disney versus Universal — it’s been a hot debate for years and continues to be a hot debate today, especially with Epic Universe joining the lineup.

Despite the projected earnings for Epic Universe in its first year being over one billion dollars, the rest of Universal’s theme park revenue doesn’t seem to be doing so hot. NBCUniversal recently held its first-quarter earnings call, and revenue for the parks was down.
ANOTHER streaming bundle is coming.

In recent months, several streaming services, including Disney+, have announced bundle deals — sometimes teamed with specific cellular companies. Some people are drawing comparisons between these new streaming combinations and cable television. Now, some of the biggest streamers are teaming up for a bundle with one of the world’s biggest cable companies.
In a time when the theme park arms race is heating up, could Disney possibly be helping out a competitor?

Universal Orlando Resort is getting ready to open its latest park, Epic Universe and the whole theme park-going world is going crazy with anticipation (us included). While Disney has plans for its own expansion, is it possible The Walt Disney Company is helping Universal build Epic Universe? Maybe.

Bob Iger has been back at Disney for just a few months, but we’re already seeing some big changes.

Recently, Iger announced a massive restructuring at the Company, discussed how Disney’s theme park pricing was “alienating” some and how they’re taking steps to change that, and also made comments about Disney managing capacity to shift the mix away from Annual Passholders. So what’s next? Well, it looks like big changes could be on the way when it comes to Disney’s streaming service and Hulu.
