has made a name for itself by serving up delicious cupcakes, but this spot — located in both Disneyland’s Downtown Disney and Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs — also has a lot of fun with seasonal cupcakes. This time of year, it’s all about Easter!

Yee-haw!! Howdy from Disney’s Wilderness Lodge! We decided to mosey on over to Whispering Canyon Cafe, because they changed their dinner menu earlier this week.
Whispering Canyon Cafe has long been a favorite spot for comfort food, all-you-can-eat skillets, and rowdy antics from the servers, and we were excited to see what new eats they had to offer!

Friends, it might be summer in the rest of the country, but at Walt Disney World, Autumn is ON! And while some might say it’s too early for Halloween and Pumpkin-Spiced-EVERYTHING, I am not that person. So you KNOW that while I am happily in Disney World to cover the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, I also HAD to grab my ticket for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party!
Every year, Mickey welcomes his pals to this special extra-ticket event at the Magic Kingdom. This year, the party is taking place on select nights from August 25 through November 1. And you’re going to want to read on to find out where you can scare up goodies like THIS…
… plus TONS of other treats! And not just of the candy-in-my-trick-or-treat-bag variety, although there’s plenty of that, too! [Read more…]
officially opens in Disney’s Animal Kingdom on May 27th!
But the DFB was able to attend a Pandora Passholder Preview over the weekend. And you know what we learned? [Read more…]

We’re heading back to Whispering Canyon Cafe for dinner!
This fun spot, located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort, is the perfect place to dine with the whole family. What can you expect at Whispering Canyon? Generous portions, comfort foods, lots of all you care to enjoy options, and antics aplenty.
If I’m not enjoying breakfast here during a Walt Disney World visit, then you’ll probably find me at the dinner table at least once a year. And that was the case recently. Let’s check it out.
If you’re trying to locate Whispering Canyon Cafe, you can’t really miss it. It’s immediately to your left as soon as you walk through the doors of the Wilderness Lodge.
Because it’s not all that removed — or removed at all — from the lobby, that means that when the antics really get going, you’re probably going to hear them throughout the space. [Read more…]
It’s not often that I venture into the French Market in New Orleans Square. I don’t even have a good reason for not going, it just doesn’t happen on a regular basis. But when there is HAUNTED MANSION HOLIDAY CAKE, you make it a priority.
When I arrived at the French Market, there were only 2 pieces of Haunted Mansion cake left!
I scooped one up, obviously the “better looking/centered chocolate one” and headed out to the lovely patio to enjoy it.
New to the Disneyland Resort this season are an adorably festive line of Dia de los Muertos Treats.
For the past few years, Zocalo Park in Frontierland has had a gorgeous display where you can participate in some fun activities and learn about the traditions of Dia de los Muertos.
The Disneyland Resort has gone all out for Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration. Special decor, special merchandise, and most importantly, special food!
On a recent visit to Plaza Inn, I noticed an intriguing dessert that I had to try, Diamond Celebration Chocolate Cake. Honestly, I bought this out of curiosity because it sounded like a bizarre mix of flavors to me.
The description alone seemed crazy: Chocolate Cake layered with Passion Fruit, Mango & Banana Mousse, Apricot Compote and smothered with a Milk Chocolate Caramel Ganache and Crunchy Chocolate Pearls. Since I’m not a huge chocolate fan, what actually sold me were all of the tropical fruits involved. [Read more…]
We’ve hopped the monorail for another fun check-in at the Contempo Cafe!
On a recent jaunt through the Contemporary to view the Frozen Gingerbread Display, I couldn’t resist checking out the pastry case at the Contempo Cafe. More often than not, I usually find a new-to-me cupcake there!
Now, at first glance, this one doesn’t seem all that interesting. But let’s dig a little deeper. First off, the cupcakes featuring Mickey Mouse’s likeness at the Contempo in the past have been topped with a Chocolate Mickey — like this Red Velvet Cupcake. This one features a Souvenir Ring. SWAG!
The top of the cupcake is crowned with a light Buttercream Frosting, and it’s finished with cute Mickey-shaped Confetti in classic colors. But we know the Contempo well enough at this point to figure there’s a surprise inside.
…And right we are! This cupcake features the same structure of others sold here; the center plays host to [Read more…]
