Disney World is in the middle of a massive transition, as new projects are underway all over the resort, including all four theme parks.
In the short term, these major changes are coming in the next few months!
In case you missed it, Star Wars Celebration Japan was held this weekend, and Disney dropped a TON of Star Wars news bombs.
We learned that yes, Ryan Gosling is going to star in a Star Wars movie, Andor season two is going to be OFF the hook, Ahsoka season two is bringing back Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, and SO much more. However, we also got some details on a ride in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World and Disneyland. Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run is changing — and we just got even MORE details on those changes.
If you haven’t been to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 10 years, you’re going to be pretty flabbergasted the next time you step into the park.
With additions in the past several years like Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, plus upcoming changes to Muppets Courtyard (insert sad trombone noise here) and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, the park is pretty much going to be unrecognizable from its MGM Studios days. However, amidst all the somewhat controversial changes, we did get some pretty good news about this park!
March 26th was a BIG news day for Disney World! We learned that both “The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure” and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After will be opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 27th, 2025. Disney also announced a new FREE Dining Plan Offer.
Plus, we found out about new discounts and new character experiences coming to Disney World. But that is not all! We also learned about some BIG changes coming to Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and we are sharing some of our readers’ thoughts about these changes.
Okay, so rides in Disney World get updated ALL the time. Just right now, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Magic Kingdom is closed for a long update.
In EPCOT, Test Track is getting a completely new theme. Another ride that has received a few updates lately is Star Tours in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, including the addition of new scenes with new characters. Well, it seems that Disney isn’t quite done with that ride in Hollywood Studios because a new permit suggests that ride is about to get something NEW.
It’s been quite a year for change. Disney World is going through a ton of changes, with whole theme park lands going away, new lands arriving, new shows, and so much more.
Orlando International Airport is even changing! The airport announced it is getting new restaurants, continuing its expansion of Terminal C, improving parking, and more. One of our favorite airlines, though, is also undergoing some BIG changes, and in just over two months, EVERYTHING will be totally different if you’re flying on Southwest. So let’s talk about it.
Southwest Airlines has been making A LOT of changes recently! If you haven’t had a chance to read up on the changes yet, or you want all of their big announcements rounded up, keep on reading.
We are covering ALL the changes announced by Southwest Airlines so you are prepared and know what to expect in the coming months.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad in Disney World is currently closed and will be that way for at least a year.
Yeah, we know. That’s a BIG bummer, especially if you’re visiting Disney World this year. However, this is the first big refurbishment that the Magic Kingdom ride has had in a while, so Disney obviously has big plans for updating it a bit. Now, we’ve already noticed quite a bit of work happening on the ride, and we even have a hint of when we think it might reopen in 2026, but what will have changed with the ride then? Well, it turns out the answer to that is…A LOT.
Things change in Disney World ALL the time. That’s kind of the fun (and sometimes frustrating) thing about being a Disney fan.
Now a LOT is changing in the parks, including in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. We’re getting an entirely new show inside the Tree of Life AND a completely new land. But let’s talk about food…now, we LOVE the food in Animal Kingdom, but a recent change was made to a popular drink, and we have some honest thoughts we’d like to share about it. The drink in question is the Pandoran Sunrise at Satu’li Canteen, and a KEY ingredient of that drink is now different.
It’s still early 2025, but we’re still thinking about everything that’s happening throughout this year in Disney World because, y’all, it’s going to be A LOT.
Three out of Disney World’s four parks are getting massive changes. We’ve got new lands coming to Magic Kingdom (PLUS a Frontierland expansion), Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. A new version of Test Track will be opening in EPCOT. A new nighttime parade will be coming to Magic Kingdom. Of course, with all this change, a lot of things will close this year. So there are a lot of things you’ll do in Disney World in 2025 for the last time.
