There are a lot of reasons so many of us choose Southwest Airlines time and again when we fly to Disney World (or anywhere else).
It’s about the only airline left that doesn’t charge for checked bags (up to two). The airline also often offers some great discounts. We also love that the airline has an amazing cancellation policy. But lately, well, let’s just say Southwest Airlines seems to be struggling.
Okay, is it just us, or are TV shows getting canceled left and right?
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
We’ve seen Disney cancel shows that never even made it to air. We’ve seen ABC drop several shows, including long-running ones. A popular show on Apple TV+ just recently got canceled. But now we need to talk about one streaming subscription service that canceled a TON of shows in the past year.
TV shows get canceled all the time, but it’s never easy when it’s a show you’re really looking forward to watching.
Some shows get at least one full season before getting canceled, like Disney’s National Treasure: Edge of History. Some shows never even get a chance to get started. For example, Disney’s adaptation of The Spiderwick Chronicles was canceled before it ever began. The same happened with The Nautilus, which would have been the origin story for Captain Nemo from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. Even the Lizzie McGuire reboot never got a chance to get going, but now we may know why.
The entertainment industry had a pretty chaotic 2023.
First, the Writers Guild of America (WGA) went on strike for 148 days. During that strike, the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) also went on strike — that strike lasted 118 days. The strikes upended production schedules for both movies and TV. Now, the industry is returning to normal, but that doesn’t mean that TV shows aren’t getting canceled, and now, ABC has canceled a long-running TV series.

On Monday, January 8th we are still noticing tons of delays and cancelations. [Read more…]
It’s SO hard to get into TV series these days because we never know when they might be canceled.
That’s particularly true with Disney shows, especially since we’ve seen MANY shows get canceled this year, including The Wonder Years, National Treasure, and more. Well, it’s time to add ANOTHER show to the list because Disney just canceled a Disney Channel series.

The entertainment strikes involving both the WGA and SAG-AFTRA unions delayed the production of a lot of shows and movies. Meanwhile, streaming services began to remove shows from their libraries. On the network side of things, ABC-TV, which is owned by Disney, ultimately decided that eight TV shows be canceled. So, let’s take a look at why those shows were canceled.
One of the worst things that can happen once you get into a TV show is that it gets canceled.
However, TV cancelations are pretty common. We saw Disney cancel several ABC shows earlier this year, like Home Economics, The Wonder Years, and more. Well, ANOTHER show on ABC is also getting the boot.
Are you flying to Disney World anytime soon, say over the next few days? More than likely, if you are, you’ll be flying into Orlando International Airport.
Now, we know that things like flight delays and cancellations happen, but one particular airline has had multiple cancellations that began a few days ago, continued the next day, and are still happening as of October 22nd. So if you’ve got a flight scheduled with Spirit Airlines soon, here’s a heads-up.
