Sometimes, even the tiniest Disney World transportation issue can have huge repercussions on a Disney World trip, especially if you’re not familiar with the transportation specifics of your hotel.

For example, you should always know if your Walt Disney World hotel features an internal bus route.
As air travel becomes more expensive — and at least in perception — less safe, some younger travelers are re-embracing bus ridership as an alternative.

As a slew of price increases, baggage policy changes, and high-profile accidents have caused bad press for the aviation industry over the last couple of years, numbers have steadily risen for commercial bus transportation. According to a spokesperson for FlixBus (the parent company of Greyhound), “ridership across the Greyhound and FlixBus network grew by a double-digit percentage year-over-year” in 2024. This is “compared to 2023, continuing an upward trend.”
There are three things most people know about Disney World: it will probably be crowded, it will most likely be hot, and it will be expensive. While a Disney World vacation definitely won’t be the most budget-friendly option for vacation, we truly think there is something — dare we say — magical about a Disney vacation.

While a Disney vacation can be very, very expensive, there are also lots of ways to save money while still having fun! One of my favorite Disney World activities is often overlooked, but it is such a fun time and can be completely FREE!
Disney World is huge as it is home to four theme parks, two water parks, a shopping and dining district, over 25 hotels, and so much more.

All of this may sound overwhelming, and if you are worried about getting around the resort, Disney World provides free transportation for guests staying at their resorts as well as for those looking to park hop. While we have a few gripes with Disney World transportation (we are looking at you, TTC!), we are really starting to wonder when Disney World will fix the limited transportation options to Animal Kingdom as well as some of their resorts.

Depending on where you’re staying and where you’re going, there are half a dozen different methods of transportation for getting around Disney World. Some of them are fan favorites, while others are not as beloved. And perhaps the most controversial of them all is the Disney World buses.
We won’t lie to you — getting around Disney World property can be a PAIN!

Disney World’s land mass is literally the size of San Francisco, and that means that it can take you a WHILE to hop from one place to another, whether you’re heading to the parks, hotels, Disney Springs, or anywhere else. Bus transportation is often the simplest solution to getting around the parks, but just sitting around and waiting for those buses is a nuisance — good thing we’ve got a hack to help you improve that wait!
There is a new arrival at Disney World! It may not seem like a big deal compared to the opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza or the closure of Test Track, but we are HUGE fans of this new arrival.

The Disney World Transportation system is extensive and efficient. You can get almost anywhere on Disney World property utilizing a combination of buses, monorails, gondolas, boats, and trams. Disney World has been debuting new buses over the past few months, and we were excited to spot another new bus wrap!

Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin
Not only are you immersed in the Disney magic (we call it the “Disney bubble”), but you can also use complimentary Disney transportation to get wherever you need to go. Sometimes, you have the choice of taking a Monorail, boat, or the Skyliner, but other times, your only choice will be the bus. Disney buses can be great, but we have a MASSIVE gripe with the bus stops at some Disney World hotels. Hear us out.
