Disney World is going through some MAJOR changes over the next couple years. We’re going to see the coming of Monstropolis to Hollywood Studios, Pueblo Esperanza to Animal Kingdom, and Villains and Cars Land to Magic Kingdom.

The Holiday season is one of the busiest at Walt Disney World, with events including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Jollywood Nights, and EPCOT’s International Festival of the Holidays (including performances of the Candlelight Processional) drawing in huge crowds. Of course, the Holiday season culminates on New Year’s Day! We headed into Magic Kingdom on the first day of 2025 to see what the crowds were looking like.
Crowds are certainly HIGH around Disney World right now, thanks to holiday vacationers and people preparing to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Disney World. We don’t foresee that changing any time soon.

This is typically one of, if not THE busiest time of year in Disney World. Many attractions reach hours-long waits that we don’t see any other time of year. You’re shoulder-to-shoulder with hundreds of strangers, and stress levels are at an all-time high. However, even as these crowds start to dissipate at the end of next week, we know wait times for this one attraction will stay high — here’s why.

As we’ve said many times in the past, refurbishments are a fact of life at Disney World. In fact, you’d be hard-pressed to find a single day when every ride and attraction across the report is up and running without a single one closed for some kind of maintenance. Given the complex nature of many of these attractions and their necessary safety requirements, this is understandable. However, even when keeping that in mind, the sixth day of 2025 is setting up to be a doozie.
It is crazy to think that 2024 is coming to an end, which means it is time to start planning your trip to Disney World in 2025.
