The first quarter of 2019 is complete, and it’s time to get down to business. Of course, we mean cupcakes and the business of our 2019 Cupcake Crawl! But let’s address the buttercream in the room: with only three months under our (cupcake-filled) belts, we’re going to need to come back in a few months with a some new additions — so be on the lookout for the summer’s updated crawl! 😉
Come along as we list cupcakes you’ve got to try (so far!!) in 2019!
Our first entry in the Cupcake Crawl is a little loaded, and that’s because it’s an old favorite with a slightly new look (and taste!). The Peanut Butter Crunch Cupcake (a/k/a the Butterfinger Cupcake) has been a DFB favorite for years. The chocolate cake filled with dense chocolate ganache and topped with peanut butter frosting and crushed Butterfinger really worked for our PB&C obsession. But in January of this year… the Peanut Butter Crunch Cupcake disappeared from Trolley Car Cafe! (Read more about that here!) And when it returned recently, the cupcake had a whole new look.
Gone is the massive mountain of frosting covered in plentiful Butterfinger bits, replaced by a moderately sized pile of frosting covered in Butterfinger bits. Gone (maybe?) is the dense chocolate filling — now it’s more of a chocolate sauce filling. [Read more…]

Bonjour from the Beast’s castle in New Fantasyland! Upon a recent visit to Magic Kingdom, a most magical surprise popped up on My Disney Experience — a last minute reservation to Be Our Guest Restaurant!! Dreams come true, indeed. Let this serve as a reminder to not only book your dining reservations as early as possible, but to also keep checking because you never know what can happen 🙂
Be Our Guest Restaurant is a part of New Fantasyland, and is one of the hardest reservations to book in all of Walt Disney World! No matter how many times you’ve been — and especially on your first visit — it’s always so magical to walk into the Beast’s castle.
We have been on the lookout for new, higher prices at many restaurants and snack stands around the parks since we first spotted the increases earlier this month. Our latest visit to the Magic Kingdom had us collecting a few new prices for you.
That’s right, add a few more dollars to your wallet or on your gift cards (we found Christmas themed ones are now available!) to eat at the following Magic Kingdom locations.

History was made when Be Our Guest Restaurant was the first table service restaurant in Magic Kingdom to serve alcohol. (Magic Kingdom was previously a dry park.) Since that time, alcohol service has expanded to table service restaurants throughout Magic Kingdom.
It is important to note, though, that alcohol was served at Be Our Guest only during dinner. [Read more…]
Editor’s Update, August 9, 2018: Please note: the text regarding the refurbishment has been removed from Disney World’s website and the dates mentioned in this post are now open for booking. It appears that — for the moment — the refurbishment has been cancelled.
In the world of Walt Disney World dining, Be Our Guest Restaurant has been a guest favorite since day one. But for four days this month, the popular restaurant will close for a brief refurbishment.
From August 20-24, 2018, Be Our Guest Restaurant will be closed. Guests hoping to snag breakfast, lunch, or dinner as walk-up diners will have to look elsewhere. (We offer some alternatives here!)
It’s time to step back into the Beast’s Castle…
…because we’re reviewing the brand new Dinner experience at Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom!
Be Our Guest Restaurant has been ever-changing since it opened in late 2012. Upon opening, the highly in-demand restaurant changed the game by offering both Counter Service by day for lunch, and Table Service dining each evening. The current meal options include a Counter Service prix-fixe Breakfast and a Counter Service a la carte Lunch during the day. But by night? Well, that’s the most recent change-up in the Castle, which brings us to our visit.
Previously, the Table Service Dinner at Be Our Guest Restaurant offered an a la carte menu for one Table Service Credit on the Disney Dining Plan. But as of July 27th, Dinner is a prix fixe, 3-course affair, requiring two Table Service credits (also known in Disney-speak as a Signature experience). It’s priced at $55 for adults and $35 for children ages 3 to 9. [Editor’s Update: the price of this meal changed in October 2018. The current price is $60 for adults and $36 for children ages 3 to 9.]
But before we dig in… let’s take a look around!
You can take a full tour of Be Our Guest Restaurant here. But because the chance to dine inside Beast’s Castle (from Beauty and the Beast, but of course!) is the major draw for this incredibly popular restaurant, it’s impossible to resist taking a look around this still-pretty-amazing space! The new prix fixe Dinner makes its debut at Be Our Guest Restaurant tonight! And before we head over to Magic Kingdom to take it all in, we’d like to give you a look at the FULL MENU!
Disney revealed several — but not all — of the menu items when they announced the changes coming to Dinner. Those changes include a set price of $55 for adults and $35 for children, and the meal is now two Table Service credits on the Disney Dining Plan. [Read more…]

If you are planning on going to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party later this year, then you should know that Mickey loves to treat all his guests to a larger-than-life Fireworks Spectacular as part of the evening’s events!
With the return of both parties will be the return of the Happy HalloWishes Dessert Party and the Holiday Wishes Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant.
Both parties offer guests the chance to view party fireworks from Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant and enjoy a buffet full of themed desserts and specialty drinks (for an additional fee). And — similar to the Fireworks Dessert Parties available throughout the year for the Happily Ever After spectacular — there is also an option to book the dessert buffet with a standing view of the fireworks from the Plaza Garden (as opposed to seating at Tomorrowland Terrace).
Here are the details on each:

News came out last month about big changes coming to Dinner at Magic Kingdom’s Be Our Guest Restaurant, beginning July 27, 2018. We learned about dinner becoming a new prix fixe meal, and that the experience will require 2 Table Service credits on the Disney Dining Plan. We also received all sorts of menu details, which you can read about in full and see pictures of by clicking here.
One thing we didn’t learn, however, is what the Beast will be serving for dessert after dinner in his Castle. While guests will order their choice from the appetizer and entree selections, the final course remained a mystery… until now!!
