Welcome to our roundup of What’s New in Epcot!
We’ve got a lot to cover today, including new merchandise, food updates, and more! Let’s get started.
You never know exactly what you’ll find at Heritage Manor Gifts at The American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot!
This merchandise shop has been home to a variety of items from flavored moonshine to a full array of apparel and home goods representing each of the 50 United States.
It’s been a while, though, since they’ve had any large selection of snacks in stock. For a time, Claey’s Old Fashioned Hard Candy was one of the sole treats you could find here. So on our recent visit, we were surprised to see a whole new batch. [Read more…]
Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival
is a fabulous opportunity to eat lots of great food and to drink lots of great drinks. And while we know we’ll be putting some of our returning favorites on our must-eat list — we also make a second list: New Stuff We Can’t Wait to Try! (Yeah, we’re all about lists here at DFB!)
And this is that list — including a few items we got the chance to sample recently!
The new Guinness Bailey’s Shake from the Ireland booth got us all kinds of excited when we saw it on the menu! We were expecting a frozen, creamy drink with a powerful hit of Guinness and Baileys — and that’s just what we got when we tried it during a preview! PLUS it comes with the glass! We can’t wait to try it again!
The Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar is brand new this year, and the offerings sound incredible! Mimosas include varieties like the Tropical Mimosa and the Madras Mimosa (which we have tried!), and there’s a tasty-sounding, kid-friendly drink called Frozen Apple Pie!
But aside from those intriguing drinks, the Mimosa Bar is also serving up pastries like an Almond Croissant and a Cheese Danish with Sweet Icing! One of each, please! [Read more…]
We hope you’re enjoying all that’s new at Walt Disney World this week! We’ve already visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs this week, and now we’re journeying to Epcot! So come along as we explore what’s new in food, merchandise, construction, and… vikings?
Hey Guys! We’re back with another DFB Video this weekend, and we’re taking you on a Food Tour of Epcot’s American Adventure Pavilion!
Admittedly, with so many unique and interesting dining options around Epcot’s World Showcase, the American Adventure Pavilion doesn’t really spring to mind when it comes to eating in Epcot. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t a few surprises tucked in this Pavilion. From its own Craft Beer kiosk to a terrific new dessert in the Pavilion’s Counter Service location, Liberty Inn, there are indeed some FOOD adventures to be had while you’re having your own American Adventure! Find out more about them in our latest DFB YouTube Video! [Read more…]
Spring has sprung in Walt Disney World
, and amidst all the changes in greenery and scenery (particularly at Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival), we’re also seeing lots of dramatic menu changes. (We shared the overhaul at Electric Umbrella over the weekend!) And today, we’re at Liberty Inn, the quick service spot located in Epcot’s American Adventure (a/k/a the America Pavilion!).
Over the years we’ve been known to celebrate National Margarita Day, National Root Beer Float Day, National Pie Day, and National Mojito Day here on the DFB.
But on Thursday, September 29th, we won’t be the only ones celebrating National Coffee Day. Joffrey’s Coffee Kiosks will be helping guests throughout Walt Disney World celebrate, too… with one dollar cups of coffee!!
That’s right! Grab a 16 ounce cup of hot coffee or a 24 ounce cup of iced coffee for a buck at any Joffrey’s Coffee location in Walt Disney World.
Here’s a look at just a few of the several Joffrey’s Coffee Kiosks around Disney World so you can know where to be on the lookout.
Find this one at the Transportation and Ticket Center while on your way to Magic Kingdom or Epcot.
The Joffrey’s kiosks at Hollywood Studios have some of the best theming, like this one located outside of the Tower of Terror.
Did you know that Royal Anandapur Tea Company in Animal Kingdom is a Joffrey’s spot?
And Epcot has several locations in the park in both Future World and World Showcase like the American Adventure kiosk.
Don’t forget that select Joffrey’s Kiosks in Epcot are serving specialty beverages for the 2016 Food and Wine Festival!
(Not for a buck, though. 😉 )
So whether you’re sampling one of Joffrey’s specialty beverages for the Festival in Epcot, or looking for a dollar cup of Joe in or around the parks, September 29th is looking like the perfect day to stop by a Joffrey’s Coffee Kiosk in Disney World!
Have you tried Joffrey’s Coffee in Disney World yet? Please let us know with a comment!
As the temperatures are rising in Central Florida, there have already been a few warm afternoons this year when a Root Beer Float seems like it would be just the thing to hit the spot.
If you feel the same way about this classic concoction, then you’re in luck, because you’ll find them around every Disney World park in spots like Magic Kingdom’s Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies, Animal Kingdom’s Trilo-Bites, and KRNR: The Rock Station in Hollywood Studios.
In several locations, you can substitute your preferred soda based on available flavors. For instance, I know plenty of people who like to go for a Coke Float, but I’ve always preferred Root Beer myself.
But while it’s true that we always think of this treat as being for kids, the Fife & Drum Tavern in Epcot’s American Adventure Pavilion is offering a Float made ONLY for grown-ups: the Hard Root Beer Float.
It’s a classic root beer float featuring Not Your Father’s Hard Root Beer. [Read more…]

has been an afterthought due to uninspired food for quite some time; but when I started hearing some buzz about a new steak dinner, I knew I needed to get over there ASAP…
This counter service restaurant, located in the American Pavilion of Epcot’s World Showcase, has always been a reliable stop for “typical” American fare, like hamburgers and french fries.
And because of its large size, it’s a good place to find a spot to eat should you find yourself in Epcot without an Advanced Dining Reservation.
Let’s go check out the latest!!
“Liberty Inn Publick Dining Room” — known to most of us as Liberty Inn — is located in the large building that serves as the central location when you look at World Showcase. Situated across from the American Gardens Theatre, the building also houses the American Adventure, an animatronic and film attraction; and an American history mini-museum (a great place to get away from the crowds!).
Inside, you’ll find ample seating in the atrium-style dining area. Skylights allow for plenty of natural light, and flags from the original colonies line the brick walls. You can see them up close in this post.
The decor is decidedly colonial, and the surroundings contain many items that look like they came straight from Colonial Williamsburg.
But if you’d rather [Read more…]

When I started thinking about what to get you for the holidays, it came to me in a flash: what could be more perfect than a brand new food challenge?
And we’re not talking about just any challenge. Introducing the…
You can follow the path that we lay out for you, or you can can choose to mix in a few entries from the 2012 Cupcake Crawl. (Heck, we’ll even let you choose a cake or two from the 2011 challenge!)
Remember, many of these cupcakes can be purchased with a Disney Dining Plan snack credit, so be sure to stock up and save them for this important undertaking!
Here we go!
Let’s begin in Epcot, where I’m so excited to share with you a really super fun find from Epcot’s America Pavilion.
American Adventure Gingerbread House
Within Liberty Inn, you’ll find another life-size gingerbread house, similar in scope to the Grand Floridian’s display. And much like that house, you can purchase goodies here as well!
American Adventure Gingerbread House Mini Cupcake Assortment: NEW THIS YEAR is a really fun treat that I couldn’t wait to try!
Rather than having one ginormous cake with just one flavor, the pastry chefs at Epcot are offering four different mini-cupcakes served together.
The Apple Pie Cupcake features a lovely surprise inside — apple pie filling! Crowned with fluffy vanilla icing and garnished with a sprinkle of streusel and nuts, this one [Read more…]
