You already know that Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom is, well, magical. From sunrise to sunset and beyond, it’s beautiful from almost any angle.
And now our icing wishes have come true (naturally!) at Gaston’s Tavern.

Le CellierCheddar Cheese Soup
fans, rejoice! Now there’s a quick service option so you can get your fix without expending two signature Disney Dining Plan credits! Thanks to the Refreshment Port, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup is now available (and snack credit eligible!).
Mac and Cheese
, the go-to meal of toddlers everywhere, has become a bit of a phenomenon at Walt Disney World. Everyone loves it. It comes in a bevvy of styles. And it’s almost always totally awesome.
So here’s a gallery of our favorites!
The Polite Pig Mac and Cheese is one of the newest additions to our gallery, and it’s divine. We love the shell pasta and how it holds all that tasty cheese sauce. Mmmm.
It’s impossible for us to choose just one of the mouthwatering options at Eight Spoon Cafe in Animal Kingdom, so we suggest getting one of each. The simple Baked Mac and Cheese is creamy and delish, while the Pulled Pork and the Sweet and Spicy Shrimp versions are interesting and satisfying. [Read more…]

At the 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, the Crew from The Chew once again offered a custom menu for the event. And we expect to see them again this year at the 2017 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!
The event runs a record 75 days this year, and for the first time ever, will begin in August! Mark your calendars for August 31-November 13!
While we can’t wait to see all of the new dishes that will debut at this year’s Marketplace Booths, we’re taking a look back at some of our favorite dishes from last year, like The Chew’s Ricotta and Zucchini Ravioli with Rustic Tomato Sauce.
The fresh flavors of this vegetarian dish wowed us, and we love that we can recreate it at home with this handy recipe!
The 2017 Epcot Flower and Garden Festival is in full bloom right now, and this year The Berry Basket joined the Outdoor Kitchens.
The Berry Basket is the place for berry lovers, offering savory and sweet dishes! The Warm Wild Berry Buckle with Pepperberry Sorbet is one of our Best of the Fest! The warm cake topped with cool and spicy sorbet was amazing! [Read more…]

Sometimes, nothing but a plate with This Guy on it will do. Yep. We’re talkin’ about a Mickey Waffle the size of your head.
Or do you prefer the Mini Version? So cute, I could just eat them up! (And I doooo!)
Regardless of whether your tastes run to the Jumbo or the Mini, say it with me:
And that’s why you want to — YOU NEED TO — make them at home. [Read more…]
Last summer, Chef Art Smith opened Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine in Disney Springs — and it quickly became one of our new favorite dining spots at Walt Disney World. The menu is full of Southern comfort foods including Church Lady Deviled Eggs, some of the best Fried Chicken we’ve ever tasted, and just-like-mom-used-to-make Macaroni and Cheese.
The dessert menu showcases several Southern specialties but two of the items absolutely stand out! When you’re there, you MUST try the Shine Cake and the Hummingbird Cake!
Today we have the recipe for the amazing Hummingbird Cake, a southern specialty combining a moist pineapple and banana cake with luxuriously thick cream cheese frosting!

SO excited about this perfect-for-winter recipe.
This time of year, where I come from, Apple is the King of Winter Flavors!
So I was super psyched to see this amazing recipe from Steakhouse 55.
Warm Apple Butter Cakes
have it all — Caramelized Apples, moist Butter Cake, and a drizzle of Caramel Glaze spiked with Jack Daniels (!!) to top it all off. And what’s better? Since you make the cakes in individual portions, you don’t have to share. Sweet! [Read more…]
It’s high time for more 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival fun!
Once again, we’re going beyond the Marketplace Booths for a Special Event that is new to the Festival this year: Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It! Hands-On Workshops. Similar to the Festival’s Culinary Demonstrations and Beverage Seminars, this new offering takes place daily in the Festival Center. However, the Mix It, Make It, Celebrate It! sessions offer an interactive element unique to this Special Event where participants can take tips directly from leaders in the culinary industry.
The choice of topics is extensive, ranging from forming sushi rolls to pasta making and vodka tasting to pumpkin decorating (and beyond — check out the full list of options here). We attended The Art of Pastry Making with Erin McKenna.
You might be familiar with Erin McKenna as the founder of Babycakes or the owner of Erin McKenna’s Bakery NYC in Disney Springs (or even her shops in New York and Los Angeles). If so, then you know that her focus is on creating tasty vegan and gluten-free goods. Since baking gluten-free items is not something I have previously attempted, I thought this would be a great opportunity to learn something new!
So join me in the Chef’s Showcase at the Festival Center to check out this new Special Event!
Long tables are set up in front of the stage so there’s plenty of room for lots of would-be pastry-makers! [Read more…]
The 2016 Epcot Food and Wine Festival is a great place to sample new and exciting food and drinks from around the world!
Every year at the Food and Wine Festival we find delicious dishes that keep us coming back for more. And since most of the menu items are only available at the Festival, we often find ourselves craving a particular dish in….oh, January. To help curb those cravings we love cooking up some of our favorite dishes at home.
Trying out a new recipe is always a fun excuse to have some friends over for a dinner party – think of it as your very own private Food and Wine Festival, without the crowds or the Florida heat and humidity.
Today’s recipe for Berbere Beef Tenderloin Tips with Pap from the Africa Marketplace booth might look a bit daunting, but don’t let the list of spices for the Berbere Spice Mix deter you. If you aren’t up for that big of a challenge, you can find pre-made spice mix online (but we think homemade is better)! Invite some friends over, pop open a nice bottle of South African wine, and let’s get cooking!
