Are you as excited about the Epcot Food and Wine Festival as we are? It will be here before you know it!
Summer may have just begun, but in just a couple of months — weeks, really — we’ll be kicking off the festival with strolls along World Showcase Promenade, sipping and noshing on lots of new dishes and returning favorites.
And even though we’re still awaiting major details, like booking dates and a full list of events, there’s plenty that we can get started on in the way of planning.

Rumors started swirling in late 2015 around a new wine bar headed by Master Sommelier George Miliotes coming to Disney Springs. The rumor was officially confirmed at the Party for the Senses (an Epcot Food and Wine Festival Special Event) last fall.

Slated for a late 2017 opening, groundbreaking took place in December of 2016, and the walls surrounding the construction site (located just across the way from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar and next to Raglan Road’s Hole in the Wall Bar) were covered with a display of the concept art for the space’s exterior. It’s official!! Pandora — The World of AVATAR — in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom is OPEN! And…um…the lines are a little cray-cray.

So we recommend staying home this weekend instead of braving the insanity that is the three hour wait to get IN TO Pandora, and then the three hour wait to ride any of the rides…and watch our Pandora videos instead!! ;-D
We are anxiously awaiting word on the opening date for Choza de Margarita in Epcot’s Mexico Pavilion!

Originally announced as Choza Tequila, this upcoming outdoor tequileria and margarita bar will also serve tacos, empanadas, chips, and fresh guacamole.

Though we are still looking forward to information on when this spot will be open for thirsty passersby in World Showcase (it was originally slated for early 2017), we do have some intel regarding something VERY important.

You know we love our cupcakes here at DFB. But when we want a sweet treat, we often find ourselves at Sprinkles. Sprinkles is, like, cupcake heaven. And with amazing options like Cupcake Sundaes and Frosting Shots, the hits keep comin’.

Y’all already know about the new grown-up drinks being served up in Pandora at the Pongu Pongu lounge, but that’s not the only place you can get something new and boozy in the Animal Kingdom! Nosiree!
If you happen to find yourself on the other side of the park in the land of cartoonish dinosaurs, stroll up to the window of Trilo-Bites and take a gander at their (changing-with-some-frequency) little menu.

“Party Party” is the translation from the Na’vi language for Pongu Pongu, which officially opens in Animal Kingdom — along with the rest of Disney World’s newest land — on May 27th. For the past weeks we’ve been getting some amazing reports, reviews, and photos from dozens of DFB readers who have been to Pandora during cast previews, eaten multiple menu items, and sent us their thoughts!
While we here at DFB haven’t been to Pandora, yet, we’ve compiled the reviews of our readers into an Eat This Not That guide for the World of Avatar in Disney’s Animal Kingdom that I hope will help out those of us who are headed to Pandora later this month! We always love when the DFB community can help each other out, and we think this is a great example of one of those times!
