All four Disney World parks are prepping for some pretty big changes this year.
Toy Story Land
We originally thought Disney’s Hollywood Studios would be left mostly unscathed, but alas, it was announced that the new Monsters, Inc. land would be taking over Muppets Courtyard and the Muppets would be moving to Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and we’re expecting those changes to begin later this year. In fact, a lot of these changes could make the parks more crowded, so beware!
Happy New Year! It’s 2025, and a LOT of exciting things are coming to Disney World this year.

We’ve got new shows, a new nighttime parade, new lands beginning construction, and SO MUCH MORE to look forward to. We’ve even got a few new dining spots, including a Pirates of the Caribbean tavern and a Spaceship Earth lounge. However, now that the New Year has started, Disney World has been busy adjusting some of its existing restaurant menus, so let’s see what’s changed this week.
January 6th is a BIG day for Disney World.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Unfortunately, we’re not looking forward to this day for anything opening, but the exact opposite. THREE popular Disney World rides will be closing for varying amounts of time for refurbishments. We’ll be getting a bit of new magic on one, while the other two will likely just see routine maintenance during their closures.

Magic Kingdom
Disney World’s saw MASSIVE average wait timed this week, with 5 rides averaging waits in the triple digits, including a whopping 144 minute wait for the ever-dependable Avatar: Flight of Passage.
One of our biggest complaints about many Disney World quick service restaurants is that so many just don’t have enough seating.
Toy Story Land
So, yes, we’ve had to eat on the tops of trash cans even outside of EPCOT festivals because we couldn’t find anywhere to eat our lunch. So imagine our surprise when a popular Disney World restaurant, Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, decided to demolish its entire seating area last year and we had to sit behind the restaurant near the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Well, now, part of the seating area at Woody’s Lunch Box has officially reopened.
If you’re heading to Disney World in 2025, you may be a little overwhelmed with everything there is to plan.

However, while you’re thinking of when to book your trip, what to pack, and how many days to spend exploring the parks, we also need to warn you that there are some cringey things we’ve seen guests do that we are 100% BEGGING for you to not repeat when you’re visiting the parks in 2025.
Dining at table service restaurants in Disney World can be fantastic, but worrying about getting reservations 60 days in advance of your trip and taking 1-2 hours out of your park day just to eat can be stressful, so it may not always be the best fit.
Garden Grill Restaurant
Sometimes, though, you want something a little more elevated than a quick-service meal, which leaves you at a bit of a loss. Fear not, though — there’s a middle ground that we absolutely love, and that’s Disney World lounges! Lounges are fantastic because you get the same elevated menu from table service restaurants without the time expectancy or the reservations. If you want to hit some lounges in 2025 but don’t want to spend an arm and leg for too small of plates, these are the top lounges we recommend!

EPCOT
It’s not uncommon to see some pretty astonishing things while you’re in the parks, especially if it’s your first visit, or you haven’t been in a while. Some of these things though even surprise us, and we’re in the parks every day! If you’re traveling to Disney World in 2025, you’ll want to prepare yourself to see these astonishing things while you’re in the parks.
The holiday season may be coming to a close at Disney World, but that doesn’t mean the crowds are expected to go anywhere anytime soon!
