Will These Closures Make Disney’s Animal Kingdom A Half Day Park?

Animal Kingdom is changing. As Walt Disney World’s most recently opened theme park steams towards its 30th birthday in 2028, the park is set to receive its biggest addition since Pandora with the building of the Tropical Americas land, which will feature the fictional setting of Pueblo Esperanza, which will be home attractions based on the Encanto and Indiana Jones franchises. Furthermore, a new Zootopia show is coming to the park’s Tree of Life.

However, all of those additions are coming at a price. Tropical Americas will be replacing DinoLand, while the Zootopia show will be booting opening day stalwart It’s Tough To Be a Bug. All of which begs the question, is Animal Kingdom about to truly become a half-day park for a few years?

Celebrity SPOTTED in Disney World! Guess Who Just Met Chip ’n’ Dale?

Celebrities just can’t stay away from Disney World…and, hey, if we were rich and famous, we would be visiting ALL the time, too (well, we DO visit all the time, but we’re also not living it up as VIPs the way they do).

Neil Patrick Harris recently visited EPCOT to narrate the EPCOT Festival of the Holidays Candlelight Processional and then spent some time at his favorite bar, La Cava del Tequila. Josh Gad recently visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom and had a great time being a guide on Kilimanjaro Safaris. Well, now, another celebrity, Jason Kelce, has visited Disney World…again.

This Celebrity Is Living Our DREAMS in Disney World, and We’re Super Jealous

Celebrities love Disney World as much as we do — and we’re always spotting them in the parks or seeing where they’ve posted on social media about visiting the parks.

Recently, Gloria Estefan and her family took the ULTIMATE Christmas card photo in Disney World. We’ve also seen Charlize Theron, Sydney Sweeney, Jason Kelce, Terry Crews, and other big celebrities having fun in the parks. Well, Josh Gad recently visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom…but he also did something EPIC there — he helped lead a ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris!

NEW Permit Filed for Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney filed a permit for work to be done at the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which currently houses It’s Tough to Be a Bug.

The permit was filed on February 3rd, 2025, and is for work to be done by a contractor called Westbrook Service Corporation.

Disney World EXTENDS Park Hours for February and March

While open-to-close Disney World days are TOUGH on the body (and sometimes the mind, let’s be honest), you at least know you’ve 100% gotten your money’s worth.

However, some people choose to have split days, where they spend the morning and early afternoon at their hotel or relaxing, and then head into a park later in the day to enjoy the evening. This is significantly easier when the parks are open later, and if that’s what you were looking for over the next two months, we have great news — Disney has extended their park hours in three parks on certain days in February and March!

Every Single Disney Ride Opening in 2025

The Disney Parks are constantly changing, and it can be tough to keep up.

Last year, Disney unloaded SO MUCH info about the future of its theme park experiences at D23 2024: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. We learned about land expansions, whole new themed lands, new rides, and so much more coming to the theme parks worldwide. Really, we now know that the parks are going to be incredibly busy with TONS of projects over the coming years. With that said, 2025 will see plenty of construction start, but only a handful of new attractions are opening this year.

SAD SNACK NEWS: Disney RAISED THE PRICE of One of Our Favorite Pretzels ?

Well, Disney World has certainly surprised us when comes to food this week.

First, we got to eat the Riviera Cookie Skillet at Disney’s Riviera Resort, which we’ve dubbed the “Pizookie” and it was EVERYTHING we’d hoped for. Then we scratched our head over the Dark Chocolate Cone we had in Disney Springs because its name is a little misleading. Then there was the Charcuterie Croissant, also in Disney Springs, which is just as amazing as it sounds. Now, we’re looking at Disney World restaurant menus and checking for changes.

A Popular Hotel Location Will Be CLOSED in Disney World This Week

The list of closures has been growing recently, including the addition of many attractions and numerous hotel pools that closed in January. Well, another Disney World hotel location is joining the list of closures this week!

The Longest Line in Magic Kingdom This Week Was NOT for the Faint of Heart

Every week, we report the average Disney World wait times in every park so that you can be prepared for your next trip to Orlando!

Disney World’s average attraction wait times increased across the board this past week, with nearly every ride at the resort seeing a massive increase…with one notable exception at Rise of the Resistance. The biggest wait times jump belonged to this week’s busiest ride, Avatar: Flight of Passage, which saw its average wait jump to OVER 90 minutes.
