Everybody hold onto your seats because I’ve got TWO closures to tell you about today, and one of them…might blindside you. We’ve also got Disney Cruise Line updates and a look at Disney’s ideas for the future from this week’s earnings call.
When we visit Disney Springs, we’re on a mission. We’re there to see the hot new merchandise at the World of Disney Store. We’re there to snag a spot in line at Gideon’s Bakehouse. We’re there to enjoy a meal at Homecomin’. What’s the one store we tend to skip? Goofy’s Candy Company. Sorry, Goofy! But when there are so many AMAZING sweets and treats in Disney Springs, it’s easy to overlook this candy shop. Well, that’s about to change.

Recently, we stopped by Disney Springs and were SHOCKED to learn that — of all places — Goofy’s Candy Company was filled with Disney fans! There was one thing flying off the shelves, and you’ll never be able to guess the hot new souvenir.
Disney World recently launched a premium Lightning Lane pass that grants one-time entry into every Lightning Lane in a park for one price, eliminating the need to monitor Lightning Lane availability and make new reservations throughout the day. The Premier Pass also lets consumers simply show up at an attraction and enter the Lightning Lane (as opposed to booking a specific time), making it much easier to skip the lines in Disney World. This service comes at a premium price, though, ranging from about $129 per person to $449 per person.

While this service is still relatively new (launching back in October 2024), Disney has already announced changes and expanded the service. At Disney’s first fiscal quarter earnings call on February 5th, Disney CFO Hugh Johnston commented on the rollout of Lightning Lane Premier Pass. Johnston noted that Disney is still somewhat reserved about its Premier Pass but hopes to build this product up over time.
On February 1st, 2025, Jellyrolls announced it will close its doors in Disney World. The announcement explained that Jellyrolls plans to make a move, possibly hinting at a new location for the dueling piano bar off Disney World property.

This closure is expected to happen in spring 2025, though we’re still waiting on an exact closing date. Following this breaking news, the Jellyrolls General Manager commented on what’s next for Jellyrolls, and we have the details.
After 30 years, Jellyrolls will be closing on the Disney World BoardWalk. This closure will happen sometime in spring 2025.

According to a new Instagram post, the dueling piano bar stated that it will be “making a move,” which likely means they will be saying farewell to the BoardWalk, but potentially reopening in a new location outside of Disney World.

Oh Bakso, where are you?
Disney is turning one of its most expensive creative projects into office space?? A sweet, new baby has joined the rest of the tiger crew in Animal Kingdom, and there’s now a missing ride in Magic Kingdom?!?!
Remember the infamous Star Wars Hotel, officially known as the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser? This immersive hotel experience had a short run (and a high price tag), closing just one year after opening in early 2022. Ever since the building, which is located just outside Disney’s Hollywood Studios, closed in 2023, Disney fans have wondered what would happen to the hotel. Well, in a new report by Drew Taylor at TheWrap, it seems like Disney has no plans to welcome guests back inside this building.

TheWrap reported that sources close to Disney revealed that the Galactic Starcruiser building will be used as office space for Walt Disney Imagineering. This means the hotel rooms may soon be converted into offices.
Starbucks has some big changes planned for 2025. Back in 2024, a new CEO, Brian Niccol, took over the company, and since his arrival, Starbucks has announced new rules, new menu items, and new restrictions. In fact, at its recent earnings call, Starbucks announced plans to scale back its menu.

Soon, the menu might look a little lighter, as Starbucks confirmed plans to eliminate several food and drink options.
