I just got back from the very first Festival of Holidays in Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort!

This new Festival is running now through January 8, 2017, and features music, dance and entertainment, and decorations all in honor of the season as it is celebrated around the globe.
We’re used to dining with friends at T-Rex Cafe.
Among our pals in this prehistoric dining joint are a Triceratops, a Wooly Mammoth, and a gigantic moving Octopus.
But for select dates in December, another friend — and his wife — will be joining guests at T-Rex in the Marketplace of Disney Springs. Because Mr. and Mrs. Claus will be the honored guests at Breakfast with Santa!
Typically, T-Rex only serves Lunch and Dinner. However, on December 17th, 18th, 22nd, and 23rd, T-Rex will host a breakfast buffet that will also feature easy access to Early Bird Shopping at the World of Disney Store (from 9 – 10 am), and the T-Rex Dino Store in addition to the chance to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

We are heading to one of Walt Disney World’s busiest park counter service locations to see what’s new for lunch — Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
Located on the edge of Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland near where it transitions to Fantasyland (it’s just to the right of the castle), Cosmic Ray’s is an excellent bet for finding something to please everyone, especially if your party includes members who are less adventurous in their tastes.
But if you do like more interesting fare, don’t be afraid of this intergalactic hotspot! In addition to tried and true favorites like Chicken Nuggets and Bacon Cheeseburgers, you’ll usually find some outta this world (see what I did there?) options as well.
Besides, Cosmic Ray’s is home to one of Disney’s legendary toppings bars. And you KNOW how much I love a good toppings bar.

Much like the rest of Tomorrowland, Cosmic Ray’s is at once retro and futuristic — although the retro vibe is more 1980s than anything. Purple, teal, and silver will send you searching for your Swatch Watch.

It’s been waaaaay too long since I’ve stopped by one of my very favorite pool bars in all of Walt Disney World…
But now I’m back at long last. Welcome to the Banana Cabana Pool Bar at Disney World’s Caribbean Beach Resort!
Banana Cabana may not be new and flashy like some of the more recent watering holes to arrive in Disney World like AbracadaBar or Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto. And the still relatively new Oasis Pool Bar is delivering some brag-worthy eats to guests at Polynesian Village Resort.
But Banana Cabana has long held a place in my heart because of its tropical vacation vibe and terrific bartenders. Banana Cabana is a mini-getaway in and of itself, even within the Vacation Kingdom.
So join me in kickin’ back with a few drinks by the pool at Banana Cabana!
