arrived on Disney’s BoardWalk in May of this year.
And here’s something you should know: the new Disney location for this Brooklyn-based ice cream company is pretty nice about letting you try samples of their sixteen house-made flavors.
Which is almost a problem. Because choosing between Peppermint Pattie, Cotton Candy, Ooey Gooey Butter Cake, PB Wins the Cup, and the rest (including the BoardWalk’s exclusive flavor, Sally Sells Seashells) almost gets MORE difficult after you taste them. You just kind of want them ALL.
And that’s where the spot’s Ice Cream Flights come in awfully handy! So we’re back to check out those Flights along with a couple of Hard Floats that hit the scene a little while back.
The Ice Cream Flights are $10.19, and you get to choose six flavors per Flight. It’s a fun way to try several when you just can’t decide. (I mean, sure, they are keen on the samples, but they gotta draw the line somewhere 😉 !)
My friend and I grabbed a couple flights so that we could try twelve out of the sixteen flavors. Here are some mini reviews to go along with these mini scoops! (By the way, while “bite-size” is obviously different for everyone, I’d estimate that each scoop gives about four-five bites of ice cream.) [Read more…]
Snacking with a special diet or allergy can be tricky at Walt Disney World, but Disney has released something that might make life a little easier!
Pure Growth Organic Snacks are, at a minimum, organic and all natural. While these grab-and-go snacks aren’t hearty meals, families can stash them in a backpack and eat on the go or in line. And, as a bonus, they come with Disney characters on the packaging to make them feel like a more magical snack!
Holidays Around the World

Editor’s Note: Geyser Point Bar and Grill will be opening in February 2017.
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is home to some of our favorite dining spots including the Whispering Canyon Cafe and Roaring Fork. And next summer it will be home to a new table service restaurant – Geyser Point Bar & Grill. A new quick service restaurant is planned as well.
The new table service eatery is part of the on-going expansion at Wilderness Lodge, which also includes the addition of waterside cabins, a new pool at the Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge (formerly The Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge), and the addition of more DVC units in the main lodge.
Have you always wanted to dine at BOTH Morimoto Asia and Chef Art Smith’s Homecoming Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine on the same night? Well, now you CAN — thanks to a new special event – Sake & Shine – on December 3.
Sake & Shine is a progressive dinner featuring Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto and Chef Art Smith at their respective restaurants in Disney Springs.
Are you ready to Let the Good Times Roll? Then join us at the newly reopened Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory!
This Counter Service option for Disney’s Port Orleans Resort — French Quarter closed down for a refurbishment in July. Though not much was known regarding plans for the space, it was assumed — given the four-month closure — that some major changes could be in store. So we were excited to check things out when it opened again to guests on Saturday morning.
Excited… and very curious. After all, Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory is known for having one of the most interesting atmospheres of all the Disney Resort food courts. As the name implies, it was themed as a warehouse storing larger-than-life parade props for Mardi Gras, fitting in well at the Resort that pays homage to New Orleans. (If you’d like a little refresher, you can take a tour of what the space looked like here.)
Louisiana cuisine also influenced the menu with unique choices like a selection of Po’ Boys and Gumbo among more standard Counter Service offerings. And no visit to Sassagoula is ever complete without those famous Beignets! (Spoiler Alert: they’re still here! 🙂 ) [Read more…]
is now OPEN for business in Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
This Counter Service eatery served its last pizza pie as Toy Story Pizza Planet in January of this year.
Throughout most of 2016 a HUGE makeover has been taking place, transforming this space that was once filled with visions of Little Green Men and arcade games into an establishment owned-and-operated by none other than Rizzo the Rat of Muppets fame!
Located in what is now known as the Muppets Courtyard section of the park, PizzeRizzo is at long last ready to welcome you and yours to the (literal) party! So join us for our very first visit to The Famous Original PizzeRizzo!!
Over the past several months, we’ve been able to spy plenty of outdoor details of PizzeRizzo as the transformation has taken place. [Read more…]
Mickey Mouse is celebrating his birthday on November 18
and we’re all invited to the party! Whether you’re celebrating the Mouse’s big day at Walt Disney World or Disneyland, there are so many sweet treats to enjoy – and the best part is, every dessert was inspired by Mickey!
No birthday celebration is complete without cupcakes, and Mickey’s Birthday Cupcake will be available at The Trolley Car Cafe and Starring Rolls at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! A Love Mickey XOXO cupcake is available at the Main Street Bakery and Gaston’s Tavern in the Magic Kingdom, while Mischievous Mickey’s Birthday Cupcake – a confetti cupcake filled with strawberry mousse and topped with chocolate buttercream – will be available at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot.
Happy Happy Holidays, Everyone!
If we weren’t quite feeling the Holiday Spirit yet, that all changed the other night as we took in the very first performance of Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
I know, I know. We all dearly miss the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights just as much as you do. Let’s take a moment to reflect. (Somber music playing. Or something.)
Ok — is it out of our system? I hope so. Because we have some pretty cool stuff to share with you, starting with a look at some of the awesome decor you can spy around Studios. Let’s head in! [Read more…]
