Hey, we get it. There’s a lot to do when planning what you’re going to bring with you on your next Disney World trip!
Don’t worry. This is what we’re here for. So you always have those essentials like ponchos, chargers, and comfy shoes to pack. but did you know that there are a few things that are flat-out prohibited from Disney World? And they might not be that obvious!
Let’s go over 4 items that you can’t bring to Disney parks and/or properties and what you could pack instead. Let’s dive in!
Plastic Straws
To kick things off, let’s talk about plastic straws. You’ve used them. They’re ubiquitous. However, you won’t find them anywhere at Disney’s Animal Kingdom or Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge (Kidani Village and Jambo House). They’re strictly off-limits there.
As you can imagine, with Disney’s focus on conservation and its impact on wildlife, they’ve completely banned plastic straws. So, if you need straws, you may want to consider bringing reusable straws with you.
Glass Containers
The next one you might not have known about is that Disney prohibits all glass containers in the parks, except baby food jars.
This is all about safety. You can imagine how bad it could be if glass bottles or containers were to shatter in one of the parks, which is why Disney plays it safe and bans them outright.
Now if you need a container for water (which we totally recommend) you should consider getting a reusable water bottle.
It’ll come in handy when you need to hydrate and there are a lot of refilling stations throughout the parks.
Wagons
Next up, while wagons would seem to be a great idea at Disney World thinking about the merch, the kids, the kids’ merch, and alllll the other things you could carry, they are actually prohibited by Disney.
On that topic, trailers, or even strollers that are bigger than 31″ (79 cm) in width and 52″ (132 cm) in length are also prohibited. It does make sense that these big strollers and wagons would take up too much space, especially with all the crowds. It’s just safer in Disney’s mind to ban them outright.
If your stroller doesn’t meet Disney’s guidelines, you could rent one of theirs for the day, bring in a smaller stroller, or consider one of the park bags that we use and love!
Large Misting Fans
Last up, let’s talk about misting fans. You know — the ones you get errant sprays from every once in a while? They can be wonderful in the Florida heat and humidity, but large misting fans are prohibited at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
If you are trying to stay cool, you can opt for things like a handheld misting fan, mini fan, cooling towels, and of course, a reusable water bottle.
Those are 4 items you definitely shouldn’t pack for your next trip to Disney World. For more info on the full list of Disney prohibited items, check out this list here.

Disney may say wagons aren’t allowed, but I still see them in the parks, especially in MK.
No straws but let’s have a gazillion plastic knives and forks ?
Wagons are all over the parks. My last trip I saw a family with a cast member and they were bringing a large wagon into EPCOT. So much for that rule!
I was just thinking the same thing about wagons in WDW. What’s the point of Disney making all these rules if they don’t enforce them?
