December is easily one of the busiest months of the year in Disney World.
The holidays are HERE!
However, it’s typically busier toward the end of the month with the Christmas and New Year holidays. So imagine our surprise when we walk into Disney World today and it’s, like, bonkers busy.
We’re not exaggerating either. We knew we were in for it when this was what the entrance to Disney’s Hollywood Studios looked like early in the morning.

Not to mention that the crowds on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom are INTENSE, to say the least.

And yes, no matter what direction you’re facing, they’re a lot to take in.

But the real surprise? Animal Kingdom crowds are heavy today too! This park, while we love it, is typically underrated during the holidays. But today everyone got the memo and it feels like they’re all here with their whole extended family.

Wait times are also reflecting these crowds, with the highest wait being at 120 minutes around 10:30AM.

Was there last week. All wait times were half or better than what was posted. I think they inflate the wait times so that people will buy Lightening Lane.
We are at DVC boardwalk villas. Crowds are indeed insane! We have been at Epcot and Hollywood studios. Early entry is a must!!! We have been lucky in getting on rides we wanted with minimal waiting. We go standby only. Forget getting a virtual queue. Those are gone in milliseconds. I suspect a web crawler app is at work not unlike the ones used against Ticketmaster. Disney springs was also very crowded with the parking garages full.
Would be interested in knowing what is going on. Is this the new normal?

Agreed! Insane crowds at Hollywood Studios on Tuesday, December 5th! And Epcot on the 4th was super busy as well! So many people!
