It’s Genie launch day at Disneyland Resort!
The new planning system is making its debut in the Disneyland app today. Genie is a free planning tool used to help you create your best day in Disneyland. Also launching today is Disney Genie+, which is replacing MaxPass in Disneyland and costs $20 per day, per person. Genie+ will give you access to reservations for the Lightning Lanes (old MaxPass lanes) of several rides in the parks. There are also Individual Attraction Selections, which are high demand rides that you can pay for individually to use their Lightning Lanes. One of those rides is Rise of the Resistance, and we just found out the cost for opening day!
The cost of the Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance in Disneyland Park is $20. This is the price on opening day, and remember that prices can change due to demand.
For comparison, the cost of the Individual Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance in Disney World has remained at $15 since Genie launched in October.
So, if you have a family of 4 and want to get the Lightning Lane for Rise in Disneyland, you will be paying $80.
And, remember that Individual Lightning Lanes CAN sell out. We’ve seen it happen pretty often with Rise of the Resistance in Disney World, so make sure to grab it early if you want to guarantee you’ll get on the ride.
Also, Rise of the Resistance is the only Individual Attraction Selection in Disneyland Park, the others are either included with Genie+ or only have standby lines. The IAS rides in Disney California Adventure include Radiator Springs Racers and WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure. You can take a look at the full list of Genie+ and IAS rides here.
We’ll be keeping you updated with how the first day of Disney Genie goes in Disneyland, so stay tuned to DFB for more!

What do you think of this new system in Disneyland? Let us know in the comments!
20.00 each is the most ridiculous. I rode it once and only had to wait an hour in disneyworld. I didn’t think it was that great and certainly not worth an additional 20.00
We were in Disneyland last week. It said 75 minutes for ROTR, it took us 43 minutes. When we got out the line was quite a bit shorter. This was around 6:30 on a weekday.
I could see this having more to do with Disneyland being on California. G+ in WDW is $15/person/day, where as G+ in DL is $20/person/day. Rise is an amazing ride, if I had the option of a 1.5~2 hour wait in line or $60 (family of 3). That $60 could be pretty tempting to shave over an hour off of a wait time.
